Liquid Lightning Swim Team
Incorporated (LL) is a Michigan non-profit corporation, and is
governed by a set of by-laws and a seven-member board of directors
as provided for in the by-laws. Directors serve a two-year term and
are elected at the LL General Meeting held each
fall.
The mission of Liquid Lightning is
to develop and empower swimmers at ALL levels so that they reach
their highest potential as a person and athlete. We offer a comprehensive and
competitive, year round program.
Our
head coaches are certified in CPR, first aid, lifeguard skills and
have passed the USA Swimming coaches certification test. They have
competitive swimming experience and stay current with the latest
developments in the sport of swimming. Visit our website for a
complete biography on each of our
coaches.
Communication:
Team
Website- Please visit our web site at
www.liquidlightning.org for information on swim
meets, team swim suits and swim gear, information on our coaching
staff, practice/meet calendar and email addresses for contacting
your board of directors. Meet packets for meet registration may
also be downloaded from the web site.
Email- Our primary
means of communication is through email. It is used to distribute
meet information, notify families of practice cancellations and
other general correspondence.
Family Folders– A file
box containing a folder for each swim family is located close to
the bulletin board in the pool balcony. These folders are used for
some correspondence, distribution of ribbons and medals from swim
meets and other handouts. Please check your folder on a regular
basis.
Parent/Family
Participation:
LL is a
non-profit organization and must have volunteers to host home meets
and be a successful swim club. Each swim session (spring, summer,
fall and winter) will have different requirements depending on the
meet schedule. The fees you pay cover only a portion of the team
expenses. Families may choose to volunteer the required number of
sessions per meet, or pay a $100 fee for each volunteer session
missed. Conflicts or extenuating circumstances should be discussed
with a board member.
Questions:
If you need to speak with one
of the coaches, please do so before or after, not during, practice.
Conversations held during practice take coaching time and attention
away from the other swimmers.
The LL Board of Directors
would like to welcome you to our swim club! We are excited to have
you! Please contact us if we can help you in any way or answer
questions you may have.
