form of fitness, Kristy hopes that through her coaching our swimmers develop the life-long qualities
of discipline, team work and character.  And let's not forget having a lot of fun along the way!

Assistant Coach – Ashley Weldon

Ashley Weldon began her swimming career at the age of three years old on the Fairfax Station Flyers Mini Team in 2000, and her love for swimming quickly grew, inspiring her to join the Mason Makos Swim Team at six years old for competitive swim. Throughout her childhood, she alternated from competing on the Fairfax Station Flyers Team during the summer and the Mason Makos Swim Team year-round for fifteen years. During her high school career, she swam on Robinson Secondary School’s Varsity Swim Team, where she qualified for Districts several times, and the Mason Makos Senior Team six days a week. She served as Mini Team Coach for the Flyers her Junior Year and Head Mini Team Coach her Senior Year of High School. During the summer of 2014, she earned the Coaches Award for her dedication, passion for swimming, and tenacity towards improvement, and in 2016 she received the Joan Olson Scholarship Award from the NVSL for her devotion towards advancing her own swimming career and the careers of the young swimmers she coached. Ashley has just finished her first year at the University of Virginia, where she plans on majoring in English and Government, and is a proud member of her school’s Number One Nationally Ranked Club Swim Team. She is extremely enthused to return this summer as an Assistant Coach for the Flyers, where she hopes to cultivate improvement in each swimmer’s stroke technique through fun, to foster a life-long commitment to the sport, and to inspire reciprocity of feedback and encouragement between teammates.

Assistant Coach- Andres Alercon

This will be my 4th year with the flyers. I have been a volunteer coach for the past 3 years and this will be my first year as an assistant coach. I have been competitively swimming for the past 11 years, I am a PVS Scholastic All-American and an HM All-Met for the 2016-2017 season. Finished 13th at NCSA Junior Nationals in the 200 fly. Record holder in the 50 back and 50 fly for the Flyers. I plan to continue swimming at George Mason University. My favorite events are the 200 fly and the 100 back. Looking forward to another great season with Fairfax Station!
