The Sherwood Park Swim
Club was founded in 2003 as a registered Not for Profit Society. In
2007 the swimmers adopted the Stingray as their mascot and became
commonly known as The Sherwood Park Stingrays.
The Club maintains an
affiliation with Swim Alberta and Swimming/Natation Canada,
(S.N.C.) and adheres to the rules and regulations of these
The Club is run by an
elected Board of Directors drawn from the club membership.
Elections are held at the Annual General Meeting and all positions
are volunteers. The Executive committee meets once a month, or as
required. The by-laws of the Club detail the rules, regulations and
descriptions of officers in the Club. Copies of the by-laws are
available upon request. Minutes of Executive meetings are available
by email from the Secretary for members to peruse.
The Lepps family have been actively coaching in Strathcona County
since 1988 and have brought a wealth of experience and knowledge to
the club. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have such
mature and professional coaches who are eager to pass on their
skills to both junior coaches and swimmers of all
Sherwood Park Swim Club provides swim training for children in our
community at various ages and levels of ability. SPSC is dedicated
to teaching proper stroke technique while the swimmers are in their
formative years and then concentrating on the necessary endurance
so the children can compete at a higher level.
