Established in 1978 by Patti Woodman to provide novice
swimmers with an opportunity to achieve a higher level of
synchronized swimming skills, Los Angeles Synchro celebrated its
40th Anniversary at the start of the current synchro season and
also merged with another Los Angeles area team, the Los Angeles
Aqua Nymphs. Over the years, with the guidance from top coaches,
our program and swimmers have continued to advance with Los
Angeles Synchro alumni going on to swim on U.S. National
teams.
Some of Los Angeles Synchro's
past and current high level coaches include former Olympians, World
Champions, and National Champions: Jenny Baik, Jeanette Bacigalupo,
Margot Thien, Becky Dyroen-Lancer, Jennie Culp-Finerty, Meghan
Kinney-Avrett, and current coaches Laurette Longmire and Joannie
Ciociola.
Los Angeles Synchro was a Los Angeles City sponsored team from 1978
to December 2010. In December of 2010, the L.A. City budget cuts no
longer allowed the City of Los Angeles to sponsor any of their
many club level teams. We are very grateful to the City of Los
Angeles for helping us become the team we are today and for our
continued partnership that we have with
them.
December 2010 started a new chapter of excellence for our team. We
became incorporated, and we changed our official name to Los
Angeles Synchronized Swim Club. We achieved our 501(c)(3) tax
exempt status, have a board, and have continued our tradition of
excellence with our athletes.
Nearly
every year we have athletes qualify for Junior Olympics and we hope
continued this tradition this season! Twice in the past 5
years we took home the title
of State Champions in synchronized swimming at the California State
Games. We are looking forward to another excellent
season in 2018! If you would like to
know more about our team and/or want to become part of a team who

Our 2019-2020 sesason will begin in mid to late September after our
