About Us

Thank you for your interest in the Costa Mesa Aquatics Club (CMAC). We offer affordable youth swimming and water polo to residents of Costa Mesa and the surrounding communities.

From novice to rising star, our knowledgeable staff will help your child develop and strengthen their ability in the pool, and also help them to learn and grow through athletic competition. All of our programs train at the brand new, state-of-the-art aquatics facility located at Costa Mesa High School, 2650 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa, CA.

Costa Mesa Aquatics Club is a youth aquatics club program designed to strengthen and support the water polo and swimming programs at Costa Mesa High School. We are dedicated to the following principles:

  • Offering affordable aquatics program from knowledgeable and experienced staff to the larger community
  • Reaching out to underrepresented populations in our community to enhance their awareness and participation in aquatics
  • Identifying and building talent at the earliest possible stages of an individual's athletic development
  • Enhancing the community's awareness of the health and lifestyle benefits that come with participating regularly in aquatic activities

CMAC has been organized to serve the athletes of Costa Mesa, including all primary and intermediate students of the Newport-Mesa Unified School District, and students currently enrolled in private schools located within the city of Costa Mesa. However we do not discriminate on the basis of community boundaries or school affiliation, and are open to all athletes who meet the age requirements.

We are a non-profit club, run by its elected Board of Directors which meets each month. All members are welcome at each meeting and encouraged to be involved in team activities and fundraisers.

The Costa Mesa Aquatics Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is our goal to offer age-specific training geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of their abilities.

  • Athletes First: A person who works out but does not compete is an exerciser, not an athlete.  While this perspective may be fine for adults, at CMAC we believe that competition is vital to the personal growth of the youth who join our team. Our organization has been set up with the primary purpose of developing athletes and to provide for the needs of our athletes first

  • Attendance x Effort = Success: While achieving success is not easy, the formula for pursuing it is simple.  At CMAC we stress this equation to our team members with the knowledge that it will teach them how to succeed in other areas of their life as well

  • Swimmers swim, Coaches coach, Parents parent: Everyone has a role on the team and it is important we not confuse our roles and undermine the success of the CMAC program and its individuals.  Respect for the boundaries associated with these roles is essential in creating a positive, successful atmosphere
