History:
The J-Hawk Aquatic Club was formed in April 1991 by Head Coach Joan
Domitrz.
What does J-Hawk
mean?
The letter "J" represents the Janesville area and the "Hawk"
represents the Whitewater area.
Coaching
Staff:
One of the biggest strengths of the J-Hawks is our experienced
coaching staff and the fact they have been together for over 20
years.
Coach D (aka Joan Domitrz) still
helps with the team. She stepped down from the Head Coaching
position in 1995 and her daughter, Cheri Zimdars, took over at that
time. Cheri had been Coach D's assistant since 1988.
Adding to the staff was and is Head Age Group coach, Gina
Foucault. Gina has been with the J-Hawks for over 20 years,
herself. This stability has kept J-Hawks strong in holding
thier philosophy of hard work and good stroke technique.
Our other coaches follow the same
philosophy. All of our assistant coaches are former or
current college swimmers, who bring lots of competitive swimming
and technical knowledge to the table.
Practice
Location:
We practice at UW-Whitewater's Williams Centers pool.
During the school year, we run
morning practices twice a week at Milton HS and during the summer
months we hold morning practices at Rockport Pool, in
Janesville.
