About Us

NAC is a year round non-profit swimming club, sanctioned by USA Swimming, that offers professional coaching and technique training for all ages and abilities.

The Northern Aquatic Club was created to provide the opportunity and accessibility for members to reach their goals, through self discipline, consistency, commitment and hard work as swimmers and individuals.

As a competitive swim team, practices and competitions are designed to be fun and challenging. Club members are taught all four competitive strokes (free, back, breast and fly) as well as starts, turns and underwater swimming.

Our desire is to be a top New Mexico swim team, while developing national and collegiate level competitive swimmers. Our swimmers have successfully competed in local, state and regional competitions. Many are working toward competing at the national level.

Our club emphasizes: teamwork, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, empathy, community, friendship and citizenship.

Through their experiences as students, teammates, leaders and ambassadors, our swimmers are faced with lots of situations that test their ability to win gracefully, lead enthusiastically, overcome adversity, be inclusive, act in good faith, and to represent their team, their family and USA swimming. These are the moments that test their true resolve and help them build the skills and attributes that will last a lifetime.

Our coaches, as members of the American Swimming Coaches Association, have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the USA.

Head Coach Miguel (Migs) Castillo won NM Coach of the Year in 2015. He was voted by 100+ ASCA member coaches from NM for this very prestigious award. His exceptional coaching also earned him coaching spots as the NM “10 and Under” Coach for Team New Mexico for Western Zones Summer Championships in 20152016 and now in 2017.
