Our
Mission
The Gananda Racing Aquatic
Team encourages growth and improvement in the sport of swimming
through consistent practice, engaging the teaching of our coaches,
and belief in a positive, winning
attitude.
It is our belief that
through these simple philosophies our team will win not just in
water, but more importantly, win in life!
Our
Vision
The Gananda Racing
Aquatic Team program is a USA Swimming team dedicated to educating
and developing swimmers into the best that they can and want to be
in the sport of swimming. In the process of doing so we also teach
our athletes the life values of teamwork, sportsmanship, goals,
respect, responsibility, hard work, dedication, and
self-discipline. These values are learned through their experiences
in practice and during competitions.
We are dedicated to the
protection of children and are committed to providing a safe,
healthy and positive environment for our
athletes.
Practices
All practices will be
held at the Richard Mann Elementary Pool at 1366 Waterford Road,
Walworth, NY near Long Acres Farm. Coaches recommend that the
Pre-Team and Development Team swimmers should practice two times a
week, while the Junior and Senior Team swimmers should practice 3-5
days a week. Parents are not required to stay with their children
during practices, however parents must be present for drop off and
pick-up. For safety reasons, please escort your children into and
from the pool area.
Supplies
Girls are required to
have a comfortable one piece suit, goggles, and a cap, while the
boys are required to have a comfortable swim suit and goggles. A
cap is not required for boys unless your child’s hair is
long. In addition all swimmers should have a water bottle with them
at practice to keep hydrated.
Team suits and
merchandise are available for purchase throughout the year through
The Deep End. See a coach or board member for help with ordering
GRAT merchandise.
Walk In
Registration
GRAT accepts new members
throughout the year! Swimmers are welcome to join the team after
the announced registration dates. Please come to the pool and
register prior to the start of practice. Swimmers new to
competitive swimming should have a suit and towel upon registration
in case we have to test swimming skills to designate your swim
level.
