PROMOTING TEAMWORK THROUGH SWIMMING

The Embarcadero YMCA Tigersharks team challenges, inspires and unites swimmers of all ages, abilities and demographics.  We offer each swimmer and family a safe community designed to help each child succeed both in and out of the pool.

Throughout the year, our swim team competes at swim meets around the Bay Area.  We are a USA Swimming registered team that means that all of our swimmers have the opportunity to participate in many events throughout the year.  We also collaborate with Bay Area YMCAs to provide smaller more team oriented competitions.

To join the team, schedule a try-out by contacting Mohammad Assad, Head Swim Coach at 415-615-1305.

Gold Team: The Gold Team is designed for children that have gone through the swim lesson program and are looking to transition into the Senior Team.  These participants may participate at any swim meets, but are not required to attend.  There is no minimum attendance required for this group.  Swimmers must be approved by the Head Swim Coach and enrollment is limited to ensure proper space within lap lanes.  Swimmers not approved for the Gold Team may participate in the swim lesson program on Saturday mornings.. Please contact James Beckland for more information on Saturday lessons.

Senior Team: The Senior Team is the highest level of the Embarcadero YMCA swim program.  These swimmers participate in swim meets to remain eligible to participate with the team.  All members are required to be members of USA Swimming.  Swimmers must be approved by the Head Swim Coach and enrollment is limited to ensure proper space within the lap lanes.
