Welcome to The Indiana International School of Diving (IISD)

Who We Are:

The Indiana International School of Diving (IISD) operates community programs in more than 15 training locations in the State of Indiana - each team with a year-round head coach - each coach enrolled in a mandatory year-round continuing education program. The programs of the Indiana International School of Diving compete against each other throughout the year in Levels skill competitions and Future Champion Invitationals.

Additionally, qualified individuals from the represented communities also compete as a member of a unified team at traveling USA Diving invitationals and national qualifying meets. The Travel Team members of the IISD are highly competitive at the National level in USA Diving. Active and former Indiana International School of Diving members and coaches continue to regularly represent USA Diving at international Junior Championship events as well as international Senior Championship events, and shall compete regularly in USA Diving Olympic Trials events in pursuit of Olympic levels of accomplishment.

Our program teaches divers of all ages and abilities the skills necessary to succeed in the sport. The training focus may be for fun, to succeed on a local school team, or to succeed nationally or internationally at all levels in the sport.

Our programs range in price from $5.25 to $13.13 per hour based on the program you feel is best for your child and coach recommendation. Each training venue is run by a coach who is trained and certified in First Aid and CPR and develops their coaching skills over time with an established IISD coaching instructor. All of our travel team coaches are also USA Diving Safety certified and members of USA Diving. Each coach is further trained in hand spotting and rope spotting techniques you may see them use during the course of your child's training.

Most of our training locations offer a beginning lessons or levels program which meet 2 or 3 times per week. Many of our venues also offer training options which range from 4 - 6 days per week of training opportunity.

We offer a free trial at each venue for those families who want to discover if this is something they would like to do before they commit to a number of days/hours per week. To set up a free trial lesson, simply contact the coach/venue you wish to visit and arrange the best day for the free trial with that coach. You may also try out multiple locations if you are not sure which one will be the best fit for your family, although we highly recommend you first look at the location closest to your place of residence.

What to bring to your first practice:

  • Swim Suit
  • Towel
  • Positive Attitude

Our programs are designed to challenge athletes of all levels. Whether it is the first time on a diving board or the child is an experienced diver, we can help students learn the skills to make them a better athlete in the sport of diving, and acquire great life skills along the way.

Most training venues run a year round program with no set beginning and ending dates. Statistics indicate the best divers are those who stay with the sport on a dedicated schedule. While it is possible for divers to get better while training only a few months of the year, the ones who see the most success are the those who train year round in the sport.

We do not require a contract for the lessons or levels programs; however various satellites may require a minimum contract to participate on the travel team. Athletes may begin at anytime and take breaks whenever they wish provided they give the club a 30 day notice of plan changes or inactivity.
