Welcome to the Region of Waterloo Swim Club          Since 1976

ROW not only produces great swimmers, we develop great people!

ROW is proud to announce our declaration and affiliation with the Club Excellence of Canada. We are proud to be part of a network of healthy, strong and sustainable sports clubs and sports organizations across Canada.

About

ROW has developed swimmers from age 5 through to adult since 1976. From stroke development and fitness to world competition, ROW swimmers have represented Canada with medal performances at the Olympics, World Championships, Commonwealth Games, Pan Am Games and World Cups, as well as representing the community at the International Children's Games, Provincial and Regional Championships, and local meets. As Kitchener-Waterloo's premiere competitive swim club, ROW is very fortunate to be able to provide nationally certified coaches to work with its swimmers. ROW offers not only full season programs but also Summer Camps and Community Involvement programs throughout the year. ROW operates as a not-for-profit organization as defined under the Ontario Not-for-Profit Corporations Act.

If you would like to join the Region of Waterloo Swim Club, see here.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Region of Waterloo Swim Club (ROW) is to provide opportunities for each of its athletes to attain his or her maximum individual potential in the sport of competitive swimming. To this end, the Club:

  • Provides optimum instruction, training, and competition for each swimmer, novice to champion

  • Instils an appreciation of commitment, dedication, and discipline in the pursuit of personal goals

  • Encourages a high degree of sportsmanship and team spirit

  • Provides opportunities for positive social interaction and emotional growth

The Club was founded in 1976 and consistently ranks among the top 10 clubs in Ontario and the top 15 clubs in Canada (there are over 500 swim clubs in Canada). Over the Club’s history, ROW swimmers have qualified to compete at many major international games, including the Olympics, World Championships, Pan American Games and Commonwealth Games. As well, many ROW coaches have been selected to accompany such provincially and nationally funded teams as the Far Western Tour Team, the Ontario Tour Team, the 8 Nations International Meet team, and Canada Games teams.
