REFUND POLICY

Prior to season beginning, refunds will be allowed less the cost of team shirt/gear.  If your swimmer does not pass the Safe in the Water Test, which is performed during our first practice, you will have one more chance the next practice to pass. If not, you will receive a 100% refund. After that, no refunds are given. We will give special consideration to the younger (5-6 yr old) athletes, it will be up to the coaches to determine if they can stay and train on the team.

EQUIPMENT BASICS

Swimsuits: The team suit is mandatory, as it helps the swimmers to recognize themselves as a part of the team during meets and events. Suits will purchased by everyone at an additional cost to swim team dues. Visit the "Team Swimsuits" tab on the home page for details regarding suit orders.

Swimmers must wear suits that are appropriate for practiceNo board shorts for boys and no bikinis for girls.

Goggles: Choose goggles that best fit your face and provides the most comfortable seal. Each swimmer should have two pairs of goggles.

Swim Caps: Caps will be provided for each swimmer and are required at all swim meets and practices for children with long hair. Putting a drop of conditioner onto your wet hair before you don your cap will help keep your hair from absorbing chlorinated water. In addition, dust the inside of your swim cap with baby powder between uses to prevent “sticking”.

Replacement Castlewood Dragons swim caps are $10.

VOLUNTEERS

This is a volunteer supported team.  Each family MUST volunteer to work at each meet.  Sign up for volunteer positions will be done on the website prior to the meet, however, if you have not signed up before the meet you will receive a job during check in.  See the "Volunteer Info" tab for complete details and descriptions.

DISCIPLINE PROCEDURES

The Castlewood Dragons coaches want to provide your swimmer with a fun and memorable summer.  They will work hard to create a safe, learning environment that will help develop your child’s swimming abilities. Because of their motivation to encourage your child to become better, discipline procedures have been established.

If your child displays disrespectful or disruptive behavior at any time on the pool deck (before, during or after practices and meets), the coaches will institute disciplinary measures.  Some examples of the disciplinary actions might include: wall-sits, lane changes, push-ups, and extra laps. If the child continues to disrupt the coaches or other swimmers, then parents will be required to attend practice with the child to help monitor their behavior.

Please read our Team Code of Conduct policy:

TEAM COMMUNICATION

All correspondence throughout the season will be done via the team website.  Also, all swimmers will have folders at the pool that will be used for ribbons, handouts, and other information.  Please do not hesitate to contact any of us with questions or comments.

PRACTICE CANCELLATIONS

Practice will be held as scheduled rain or shine. A decision will be made at the time of practice if inclement weather forces us to cancel (lightning or severe thunderstorms). Please  be sure to check your e-mail during questionable weather, as that will be used to communicate changes to the team.
