East Bay Bat Rays - a little
bit about us and what we offer you
The East Bay Bat Rays Swimming Association (EBAT) was
established in October 1999 as a non-profit organization dedicated
to bringing swimming to a higher level in this community through
fun, learning, sportsmanship, competition, commitment, family and
friendships.
Becoming a member of EBAT makes you a member of USA
Swimming, the national governing body of the sport in the
U.S. Your USA Swimming membership provides you with insurance
coverage, the opportunity to swim in first-rate swimming
competitions and a free subscription to Splash! magazine,
a perk offered only to members. EBAT is one of over 2,600
programs nationwide. We are considered a small sized team
with 75 to 115 active members in our age group program, ranging
from 5 yrs old to college age. We swim year round at Cal
State East Bay in Hayward, CA.
EBAT also offers other programs outside the membership
of USA Swimming……………
EBAT Masters Swim Team was established in
November, 2011 and is run by CSUEB’s Head Women’s Swim
Coach, Shane Pelton. Swimmers must be 18yrs or older to join and
must become members of USA Masters Swimming. Go to
our EBAT Masters Swimming tab for more information.
EBAT Swim Clinics are available to support
swimmers in the area who are not USA Swim Team members. We host a
12-week Fall Sprint Clinic for summer
league swimmers, high school swimmers, & non-competitive
swimmers who are looking for an opportunity to improve
their swimming skills. We also host a 5-week Spring Sprint
Clinic (late Feb-March) that gets swimmers ready for
summer league swimming. Our most popular clinic is the
“Get in Shape for High School Swimming”
clinic that begins early January (right after winter
break) and goes through the 2nd week in February –
just before the high school swim season kicks off.
In the summer months, EBAT offers a
“Learn To Swim” program where the
instructors are competitive swimmers themselves. The program begins
as public schools let out for the summer and usually runs until
early August. Many of our successful competitive year-round
swimmers got their start in our “Learn To Swim”
program.
All of these programs have information accessible on our website
as the program date approaches. Please, feel free to drop an email
to head coach, Mark Sand, if you have any questions about our
programs.

The East Bay Bat Rays Swim Team offers you the opportunity for
personal success whether you’re joining our team because you
are seriously dedicated to this sport and want to shoot for the
stars, or if you simply want to enroll in a clinic to enhance your
summer league or high school performance, we have a lane for you!
