Welcome to Medford Wave!

Medford Fitness is home to the competitive Medford Wave Swim Team.  Our team is a year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to national competitor.

All of our coaches are USA Swimming certified and have access to comprehensive training and certification programs. This provides assurances that the time children spend in swimming will be quality time.

We are a non profit swim team, run by passion for swimming, opportunity for the children, and generous volunteer efforts.  All swim members are welcome at each meeting and encouraged to be involved in team activities and fundraising efforts.

Our Coaches

Should you have questions are related to workouts, meets event/entry selection, safety, goal setting, and other swimming related needs, please meet with one of our experienced coaches.

Coach Yannick Potts--Head Coach Head Coach Yannick Potts began swimming competitively at 12 years of age in Trinidad.  At age 16 he represented his country on their National Team, and at 18 held the men's 50 meter backstroke National Record.  He swam for Saint Peter's College in Jersey City, NJ a Division I school where he excelled in the 100 yard backstroke and the 100 yard fly.  Coach Yannick's philosophy regarding swimming can be summarized by this idea:  "train fast technique, to swim technically fast".

Coach Becky Shellem--Assistant Coach Coach Becky

Team Representative Support

Team parents support your administrative needs and navigate the meet coordination/entry side of the program.  For all questions related to USA Registration, meet fees, meet sign ups or general team policy issues, please contact one of the parent volunteer support members.  Support can always be reached via email at medfordwave@gmail.com.  You can often find one or both of the team parents on the second floor of the gym, watching their own swimmers at practice.
