The Dolphins
The Loomis Basin Dolphins (LBD) are a non-profit recreational swim club serving youth swimmers from the Loomis Basin and surrounding areas.  With over 300 swimmers ages 4 to 18, the Dolphins have competed in the Suburban Swim League since 1988.

The team utilizes the Del Oro High School pool for practice and home swim meets.  Practice begins each spring in late April/early May. Swimmers participate in eight swim meets against other local teams on Saturdays throughout the summer. The season concludes with a championship meet held at Sierra College the last weekend of July.

LBD employs head coach(es), and several associate coaches, all former swimmers, with previous coaching experience.

Our Mission
The mission of Loomis Basin Dolphins Team is to have a positive impact on the lives of our swimmers as both an athlete and as an individual.  This is done by:

  • Creating a fun, supportive family environment for the team.
  • Providing a goal-oriented structure that focuses on hard work, dedication, and continuous improvement in swimming.
  • Emphasizing teamwork, commitment, and responsibility through friendly competition.

Family Fun
In addition to swimming, LBD has family and age-group activities such as Family Fun Night, Spirit Night, and an annual team camping trip. On Family Fun night families compete against each other in thrilling events and races. At the end of the season there is a team banquet and awards ceremony to reward the swimmers’ hard work.

Swimming is truly a family sport - parents not only spectate, but also participate as timers, judges, or ready bench minders.
