John P Nemeth
John is begining his second year as Head Coach of CVSC after a successful first year back in Pittsburgh, where he led swimmers to 2 PIAA State Championship titles. Prior to coaching at CV, John served as the Head Age Group Coach of the WTRC Sharks in Centerville, OH for 4 years. While there, John coached swimmers to 24 new team records and increased age group state qualifiers by 70% in just 3 years. He also served as the Head Coach of Centerville High School for 2 years; garnering 4 Top 10 team finishes at the Ohio High School State Championship Meet.
John began swimming at age 8 for the Western Waves YMCA Swim Team. He attended Pittsburgh Central Catholic where he was a member of their cross country, football, track, and swim teams. John served a pivotal role of Central’s two WPIAL Swimming Championship teams in 2004 and 2005, and was the 2006 WPIAL Champion in the 100 yard Breaststroke his senior year. Upon graduation from Central , John attended LaSalle University in Philadelphia, PA where he was a member of their Atlantic 10 Conference team; placing 2nd in the 200 Breaststroke as a freshman. As a sophomore, John transferred to Denison University in Granville, OH where he became a 12-time DIII NCAA Qualifier and 8-time All-American. He was an integral member of the 2009 and 2010 NCAC Championship Teams, as well as the 2010 DIII NCAA National Runner-Up Team. John graduated from Denison in May 2010 with a BA in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy.
