Coach Kathy has been a part of the Marlins for a long time - she
swam for the Marlins when she was a kid! Now, Kathy is a high
school English teacher and has been the head coach for the Marlins
for three years.
Kathy first began coaching in 2004 when she became the varsity
coach for Churchland High School swim team. Under her 3 year stint
as head coach, the Churchland Truckers had their most successful
seasons in school history. After leaving Virginia, Kathy continued
her coaching as an assistant coach in Indianapolis with the Pike
Red Devils club team and as the varsity girls' head coach at
Arsenal Technical High School. After a few years away from the
deck, she returned as an assistant coach and then as head coach for
the Marlins. Kathy has recently achieved ASCA Level 2 coaching
certification.
Kathy's three kids all swim competitively - including her
youngest, Morgan, who is currently in the National Group with
the Marlins. Kathy is excited to continue to build the Monroeville
Marlins swim team and hopes that all swimmers develop a love of the
sport, a foundation of skills, and friendships that last for years.
