Coach Kathy has been a part of the Marlins for a long time - she
swam with them when she was a kid! Kathy began coaching in 2004
when she became the varsity coach for Churchland High School swim
team. Under her 3 year stint as head coach, the Churchland Truckers
had their most successful seasons in school history. After leaving
Virginia, Kathy continued her coaching as an assistant coach in
Indianapolis with the Pike Red Devils club team and as the varsity
girls' head coach at Arsenal Technical High School. Kathy's three
kids all swim competitely - including her youngest, Morgan, who is
currently in the Training Group with the Marlins. Kathy is excited
to continue to build the Monroeville Marlins swim team and hopes
that all swimmers develop a love of the sport, a foundation of
skills, and friendships that last for years.

My name is Brian Susko ("Coach Brian") and I will be helping with
the Developmental Swim Group this year (Bronze and Silver). I
live with my wife Theresa and my two daughters, Caitlin (9) and
Cara (6), both Monroeville Marlins' swimmers. I graduated
from Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School and received my degree
in Computer Science from Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA where
I played college baseball. I have been in the Software
Engineering field for my entire career and am currently the
Director of Engineering at UPMC Enterprises, a software innovation
wing of UPMC. I proudly serve on the board of the Never Retreat
Foundation, which is a non-profit focused on raising money for the
care and support of patients and families battling cancer. I
also coach Monroeville youth soccer. I was never a
competitive swimmer, but know the sport very well and am a
certified AMS Official which allows me to focus on the details of
each stroke while teaching. I really enjoy working with the
younger swimmers to teach the basics and make sure they are having
fun while doing it.
Hannah is currently a sophomore at Wagner College where she is a
member of the women’s swimming and diving team. She is a 2019
graduate from Penn Trafford High School where she was a wpial and
state qualifier for the swim team. Growing up she swam for FAST and
Penn Trafford. She is excited to begin her first year coaching with
the marlins and looks forward to working with all of the kids!
