James E Lee

     Jamie has been the head coach of the Biloxi Elite Swim Team, the Mississippi Gulf Coast's premier USA Swimming program since its charter in September 2007.  Born and raised in Biloxi, Mississippi, Jamie has an extensive background in aquatics.   He began his swimming career at the age of 5 with the Gulf Coast Swim League swimming for the Biloxi Red Tide.  He also had stints with the SURF swim team and Biloxi High Swim team.  Coach Jamie went to work at the Biloxi Natatorium in May 1998 coaching various swim teams, teaching swim lessons, and lifeguarding before going off to college.
      
Coach Jamie attended the University of Southern Mississippi and graduated with a B.A. in Recreation Administration in 2004.  He then attended the University of Mississippi as a graduate assistant and finished with a M.A. in Park & Recreation Management in 2006.  Jamie returned to the City of Biloxi in 2006 being hired as an Aquatic Specialist at the Natatorium.  He now works as the Recreation Superintendent for the Parks & Recreation Department as well as coaching.  He is also a certified Level III ASCA professional competitive swim coach. 
 
In addition to being the head coach of Biloxi Elite, he is also the head coach for the Biloxi High School boys' team.  As a result of his hard work and dedication to Mississippi Swimming but especially to Biloxi Elite Swim Team Coach Jamie was voted "Mississippi's Age Group Coach of the Year 2012" and "Mississippi's Senior Coach of the year 2014 & 2015" by his fellow coaches in Mississippi Swimming.  

Tanja Webber

Tanja has been working for the City of Biloxi Department of Parks and Recreation since 1999.  She started working as a lifeguard and eventually began coaching swimming for the City of Biloxi with many of it's different teams.  In 2010 she started coaching with the Biloxi Elite Swim Team.  She served as an assistant coach for the MS Zones Team in 2012 and 2013.  Tanja is an ASCA Level II Professional Competitive Swim Coach and an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor.

She started her swimming career at the age of 11, swimming for the Steyr Swim team in her hometown of Steyr Austria.   She swam well enought to compete in the Childrens World Championship where she finished 8th in the 100 Breaststroke.  Tanja was selected for the 1980 Austrian Olympic Team in Breast Stroke.  Tanja also played water polo in Memmingen Germany and was  a member of the Life Saving/Life Guarding team where her team finished 2nd at the National level.

Pamela Passarelli

Coach Pam joined the coaching staff of the Biloxi Elite Swim Team in the fall of 2011.  She is the Head Coach of the Ocean Springs High School Greyhound Swim Team, for both the boys and girls teams.  Pam was selected by Mississippi Swimming, Inc. to the 2014, 2015 and 2016 Mississippi Zone Teams as an Assistant Coach and Head Coach.  In 2018, she was selected by USA Swimming to serve as an Assistant Coach for the Southern Zone Select Camp in Lousiville, KY.  Pam earned her B.S. in Health Science with Honors from SUNY Brockport in Brockport, NY and attended graduate school at the University of Rochester, NY.  She is a member of USA Swimming, USA Triathlon, the Mississippi Association of Coaches and ASCA, currently certified as a Level II professional competitive swim coach.  She is also a Certified Stroke Technician.  Although never a competitive swimmer in her youth, she participated in her first triathlon in 2009 and developed a passion for the sport.  She’s been hooked ever since!

She has taught group and private swim lessons and continues to support programs that help people of all ages develop healthy lifestyle habits.  She is an active volunteer in her school district, served on the Executive Board for the Ocean Springs Education Foundation from 2012-2015 and currently serves on the Swimming Committee for the Mississippi Association of Coaches and is the Chairperson of the Disability Commitee for Mississippi Swimming, Inc.

Mike began coaching for the Biloxi Elite Swim Team in 2010.  Mike enjoys working with new swimmers to help them develop swim strokes with focus on proper technique.  He helps his swimmers succeed in the water by balancing learning with fun.

Lea Renot

     Lea joined the coaching staff of the Biloxi Elite Swim Team in September of 2017. She started swimming at the age of 5 and joined the Barracuda’s swim team in Long Beach, MS; under the Gulf Coast Swim League. She also swam competitively for the SURF swim team, in Biloxi for 7 years. In 1990, Lea started swimming for the Gulfport Dolphins; started and coached by her father, Lee Sleight. As a teenager, she began to help her father in the pool by teaching young swimmers the fundamentals and techniques of swimming. After a hiatus, Lea returned to Gulfport to help coach the Dolphin’s swim team. She now teaches swim lessons and lifeguards there during the summers. Overall, Lea has close to 8 years of coaching experience.

Lea is currently working on her B.A. in elementary education with a minor in psychology at The University of Southern Mississippi – Gulf Coast. She loves teaching children and finds it gratifying when they learn something new. Lea is a registered member of United States Swimming Coaches and a member of ASCA.

Colton Copeland

Colton joined the Biloxi Elite Swim Team’s coaching staff in 2018. He was born and raised on the Gulf Coast and has been around water since he was young. Colton swam for 2 years in high school and swam on SURF for a year. Colton has gained experience within the past 5 years from coaching the Gulfport Dolphins; during the summers, assisting high school swim team practices, and from teaching swim lessons.

Colton received his Associate of Arts from Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College – Jefferson Davis and is working on his Bachelors of Science to begin a teaching career. Colton looks forward to coaching and teaching children the knowledge and skills they need to reach their goals.

Megan G Andino

Head Coach - Ocean Springs

Megan has been coaching for BEST since 2015.  She began swimming competitively at the age of 12 and has been involved with the sport since then.  She received her Bachelors of Art degree from the University of Louisiana Monroe and is currently a Level 1 swim coach.  Megan has over 10 years of coaching experience and enjoys working with our younger swimmers helping them to perfect their strokes.
