Ted Murphy

Ted is an accomplished and knowledgeable age group development and intro to competitive coach. Ted began his career in 1997 with the Fort Worth Area Swim Team (FAST) in Texas.  From Texas, he returned to Calgary to coach with Cascade Swim Club from 2002 to 2006.  His career path took him through Foothill Stingrays, Hollyburn Swim Team, Etobicoke, Medicine Hat, Silver Tide and Nose Creek Swim Association.  The most important lesson he has learned in his coaching career is that swimming needs to be enjoyable, challenging and rewarding.  Ted believes that swimming is a lifelong sport.  It allows participants to grow, set goals and develop a level of fitness which is vital to long-term health and enjoyment, not only in sport but in all aspects of life.

Michelle St. Jean

My name is Michelle St. Jean and I am very excited to be a part of the Triton Swim Club as the assistant coach. My background is significant, drawing from many sources and events throughout my life. Being a swimmer myself for 9 years gave me the step towards competitive coaching and group skills development. Through my experience swimming, I also received the drive to teach swimming from the beginning stages to advanced levels. These included Lifeguarding preparation through the I CAN Swim program, Adult Swim Lessons, YMCA Masters Swim Program, NAIT Masters Swim Club, and the YMCA swim program. In receiving my NCCP, this opened the door for me to be an assistant coach at different times in my life with both the Silver Tide Swim Club and Young Aquatic Club.

After receiving my Bachelors of Education in 2014 and being involved in teaching Grade 6 and Grade 5 in the early stages, I found it difficult to organize my work, coaching, and taking care of a family illness, which forced me to take a step back from what I loved. Coaching is very near and dear to my heart because it showed me the fundamentals of skills and teaching, and it also gave me great joy and satisfaction to see my swimmers having fun and succeeding. I look forward to working with Coach Ted, Coach Lauren, Coach Zachary and everyone of the swimmers in all group levels! You know I’ll be cheering hard and eager to see those WHEELS! Let’s have a fun and fast year!

Lauren Eusanio

Lauren is thrilled to be a part of the coaching staff this season. She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge and passion of the sport with her swimmers. Lauren has previous coaching experience with Learn To Swim and Teen Fitness swim classes.  Lauren was a competitive swimmer for 10 years, swimming at a number of different levels including Alberta Provincials, Alberta Championships, Alberta Summer Games, and Western Canadian Championships.  At 12 years old, Lauren swam to a Canadian Junior National time in 50m breaststroke and is recognized as a balanced swimmer in all four strokes.  Lauren is looking forward to being in the water with our youngest of Tritons enrolled in Novice 0.5 classes this season, helping them develop skills while having fun.
