Triton Swim Club aims to provide relevant, meaningful, and fun programs to all members.  Whether it's learning basic fundamental swim skills in our "Novice Program", or competing on the Provincial and National stage within the "Competitive Program", Triton Swim Club continues to offer award winning programs for all members.  If you have any questions related to training, meets, events, goal setting, and other swimming related needs, please contact one of the coaches below.

Brendan Elford

Brendan is excited to join the Triton Swimming team for the 2021-2022 season! Brendan was a competitive swimmer for over 15 seasons in the Edmonton area, ending on the University of Alberta Varsity Swim Team. He specialized over the years in the longer distance freestyle and butterfly. While studying business at the U of A, Brendan started coaching summer club; 3 seasons as Assistant Coach and 2 seasons as Head Coach. After graduating, he worked for 2 years as Head Age Group Coach with the Olympian Swim Club.

Brendan is now looking forward to working with a great Triton coaching staff. His goal is to provide swimmers with a fun and positive training environment, where coaches will help swimmers work on improving their skills in the water, giving them all the tools they need to swim their best.

Kai Thoresen

ASSISTANT COACH - NCCP Level 2

Kai is a new coach to the Tritons this year and is excited to be working with the swimmers this upcoming season. He has been a swimmer for many years, specializing in distance freestyle events, regularly achieving high placement in the Alberta Summer Swimming Provincials. He has previously coached and swam for the High Level Stingrays and the Lloydminster Rebels. Kai is currently attending school at The King's University in the pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts in History degree with a desire of attaining an Education degree. Kai is excited to be working with the Tritons this year, hoping to positively shape their long and short-term development while still having fun.

Katie Coleman

SENIOR NOVICE COACH - NCCP Level 1

Katie is one of our new coaches joining Triton Swimming this year. She has 15 years of competitive swimming experience, four of which are at the NCAA Division I level. Katie recently graduated from the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology and Sport Management. Katie is super excited to be a part of the Triton Swimming club as a member of the coaching staff.  She is looking forward to getting to know the swimmers and their parents, and is ready to share her passion for swimming with them.

Lauren Eusanio

JUNIOR NOVICE COACH - NCCP Level 1

As a previous competitive swimmer for over 10 years, Lauren swam at a number of different levels including Alberta Provincials, Alberta Championships, Alberta Summer Games, and Western Canadian Championships. Lauren is currently attending the University of Alberta in her second year of a Bachelor of Science in Physiology and is thrilled to be a part of the coaching staff this season. With previous coaching experience from Young Aquatic Club and Devon Dolphins Summer Club, Lauren is excited to continue sharing both her knowledge and passion for the sport of swimming with her swimmers. By placing an emphasis on the technique of all four strokes, Lauren hopes to support her swimmers by giving them the tools they need to progress through the swimming program. Being recognized as a balanced swimmer in all four strokes herself, she is eager to continue educating younger athletes on all that encompasses the sport of swimming while keeping things fun and exciting over the course of the season.

 

Zachary Scales

JUNIOR NOVICE COACH - NCCP Level 1

Zach has been with Triton Swimming for 8 years mostly as a swimmer, but just recently joining us last year as a coach. He is excited to share his love of the sport with his swimmers. Zach is certified as both a level 101 coach through Swimming Canada and a Water Safety Instructor through the Red Cross. Zach has competed with Triton at many different levels including Alberta Provincials, Alberta Championships and the Alberta Summer Games. While his best stroke is Breaststroke he is seen overall as a balanced swimmer leading to his successes in the individual medleys. Zach is looking forward to coaching the novices this year with a focus on the development of skills while still having fun.
