Andrew Craven

Head Coach


Three-time recipient of Petro-Canada Coaching Excellence Awards. 8 time recipient of Ontario Swim Coaches Council awards. 2003 recipient of the Swimming Canada President's Award. National Coaching Institute Level IV Advanced Coaching Diploma (Nov 2012).

Head coach at the 2000 Paralympics and the 2002 IPC World Championships. Staff coach at the1998 IPC World Championships and the 2008 Paralympics.

Interesting fact: Andrew believes the Toronto Maple Leafs will win the Stanley Cup this decade.

Donna Moskal

Team Manager & AG Bronze Coach


Since 1984 Donna has coached LAC swimmers to championship performances at the regional, provincial and national levels. Donna is an NCCP-certified Skills Coach Learning Facilitator, leads coaching courses across southern Ontario, and is relied on as one of Ontario's leaders in "coaching the coaches." 

Interesting Fact: Donna enjoys long walks but not on the beach.

Liz Moskal

Age Group Gold/Silver Coach


Liz swam for 10 years with LAC before returning to the club as a could say she has swim coaching in her blood.

Interesting Fact: Liz was a figure skater for 14 years, most of these while she was a swimmer.

Kelly Steeves

Senior Gold/Silver Assistant Coach


Kelly has a background in Sport Administration and Coaching. He worked for 7 years as the Swim Ontario Program Coordinator and has coached swimming at the age group, university and Masters levels. Kelly has been coaching with LAC since 2015.

Interesting fact: Kelly plays golf left-handed. 

Jonathan Korchuk

Senior Bronze Coach


Jonathan swam for LAC during high-school and continued swimming at University of Waterloo while completing an Honours Mathematics COOP degree.

Jonathan has been a Masters swim coach (8+ years), a volunteer Senior Gold LAC coach (2014/15), and a competitive masters swimmer and triathlete with several top 3 finishes at Canadian Masters Swimming Championships. He has also completed Level 1 and 2 NCCP swim coach training and is Level 1 Certified. Coaching with LAC since 2014.

Interesting Fact: Jonathan loves to do canoe trips on the French River and Algonquin Park.

Darda Sales

Senior Blue Coach


Darda swam with LAC for 9 years. She represented Canada three times at the Paralympics in swimming bringing home two medals, and in 2016 represented Canada at the Rio Paralympics in wheelchair basketball. Darda has previous coaching experience in Orillia and Ingersoll, and is very happy to be re-joining the LAC coaching team after 2 years in Alabama pursuing a Masters degree and raising her family with husband Brad.

Interesting Fact: Darda loves peanut butter on toast :)

Meggin Moffatt

Development 2 Coach


Meggin swam for 7 years with LAC and has been coaching with the club since 2001.

Interesting Fact: Meggin completed Teachers College in Scotland.


Nick Mitchell

Age Group Orange Coach


Nick is studying electrical engineering at Western University. He was a competitive swimmer for 10 years with LAC and was an Age Group National finalist and Provincial medalist. He has coached with LAC since 2015.

Interesting fact: Nick is very handy with computers.


Samantha Campbell

Development 2 Coach


Sam swam for LAC for 7 years, specializing in breaststroke She is currently studying Engineering at Western University. She has coached with LAC since 2013.

Interesting Fact: Sam is a twin.

Emma Tarrataca

Development 1 Coach


Emma swam with LAC for 6 years, and is currently studying Health Sciences at Western University. She has been coaching with LAC since 2013.

Interesting Fact: Emma has dual citizenship for Canada & Portugal

Jacob Kukovica

Senior Bronze assistant coach


Jacob has been a competitive swimmer for 15 years, including 4 years with the Western Mustangs, where he is pursuing a Masters degree. Coaching with LAC since 2016.

Rebecca Quirie

Age Group Blue Coach


Rebecca was a competitive swimmer for 13 years, swimming for the Nepean Kanata Barracudas in Ottawa and on scholarship at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, where she studied biology and graduated in 2016. She is now in her 1st year of Teacher's College at Western University and hopes to teach high school science in the future. This is Rebecca's 1st year coaching with LAC after coaching with NKB last year.

Interesting fact: Rebecca is a thrill-seeker and loves to travel; she has been shark cage diving in South Africa, hang-gliding in Australia and bungee-jumping.

Shannon Nell

Age Group Blue assistant coach


Shannon was a national level swimmer from 2003-2014, swimming for both LAC and Western University, and represented Canada twice as a junior swimmer at the North American Challenge Cup. Shannon started coaching with LAC in 2014, but took a year off last year to work on TV sets in Toronto.

Interesting Fact: Shannon has worked on the sets of many popular shows and movies, including It, Murdoch Mysteries, Saving Hope, and Kim's Convenience. 

Yousir Aldin

Age Group Blue assistant coach


Yousir swam for LAC for 9 years and is in her first year at Western University studying Integrated Science. She has been coaching for LAC since 2014.

Interesting Fact: Yousir loves to paint and has one piece of artwork published.

Lexi Meklensek

Development 1 coach


Lexi is in her 3rd year at Western University studying Media Theory and Production, and has swum for 14 years, this being her 3rd year swimming for the Mustangs. Lexi coached for 6 years in Waterloo where she grew up. Coaching with LAC since 2016.

Interesting fact: Lexi used to be a competitive dancer.

Mel Rice

Development 2 assistant


Mel was a national level swimmer for the Pointe Claire Swim Club, Swim Brock Niagara and Western University, and is now in her 4th year of Masters swimming with the London Silver Dolphins. She previously coached with LAC from 1997-2000, and works full time at 3M as a Marketing Operations Manager. Mel has 3 children, 2 of whom are swimmers for LAC.

Interesting Fact: Mel has travelled to Europe, South America and Asia for work.

Katie Flannery

Development 2 assistant


Katie swam for LAC for 7 years and is in her last year at Banting Secondary School.

Coaching with LAC since 2016.

Amy Callon

Intro Coach


Amy was a swimmer for LAC and is in her final year at Catholic Central High School. She has been coaching with LAC since 2016.

Interesting fact: Amy studied abroad last summer. 

Yudi Yang

Development 2 assistant


Yudi swam for LAC for 8 years, specializing in breaststroke, and is now studying engineeering at Western University with a dual degree in Ivey business. This is her first year coaching with LAC.

Interesting fact: Yudi enjoys playing the piano, drawing, and singing.



Brandon Ryu

Age Group assistant


Brandon swam for LAC for 10 years and is in his 1st year at Western University studying kinesiology.Coaching with LAC since 2015.

Interesting fact: Brandon enjoys crossfit training and his favourite exercise is pull-ups.

Cassie Ellis

Strength & Conditioning Coach


Cassie has an extensive background in kinesiology and nutrition. She swam with LAC when she was younger before switching her focus to ballet. Cassie teaches the dryland strength training program as well as yoga to all the swimmers in Age Group Blue and above. Coaching with LAC since 2013.

Interesting fact: Cassie grew up with Liz!
