Coach Laura Harvey is excited to be joining NCA as Head
Coach commencing August 1, 2019. Laura is a dedicated and
passionate career coach with a history of providing strong
leadership and solid coaching to swimmers from the novice to the
national level. Laura believes that in order to help swimmers
achieve their goals, it is important to know them well. Laura
understands that swimming needs to be FUN and that the best
swimmers are nurtured in a caring, positive and productive
environment. As head coach, she believes it is her job to foster a
positive and inclusive training environment. Her goal is to create
a collaborative relationship with swimmers and parents, which
allows swimmers to be actively involved in their own journey.
While she has high expectations, she gives each athlete every
opportunity to exceed those expectations.
Linda Tenhunen came to swimming later in life, developing a passion for the sport of swimming in all its aspects (officiating, master's swimming and coaching). Linda believes that the sport of swimming can impart life skills that benefit an athlete even when far away from the pool. She has a firm conviction that the best way to be the best is to have the best skills. Linda believes that in order to develop the strong swimmers, excellent skills teaching is needed at all levels from novice to senior levels. She is actively involved with each level of swimmer in the club.
