Director and Head Coach
“Coach Jimmy” to the kids – has been training divers for over 20 years. Prior to Riverside Elite Diving, he was the head coach/founder of Turn N Burn Diving (Riverside: 2003 - 2018), and was the Assistant Coach for American Flyers Diving (Ohio). He is also head diving coach at both Riverside City College and Redlands University (NCAA D3). Jimmy recently ended a 10 year run coaching Claremont McKenna College (NCAA D3).
Prior to this, Adams enjoyed an exceptional athletic career of his own in diving. He is the 1989 Colorado State High School Diving Champion, and has traveled extensively as a professional show/high diver under the employ of Sea World (San Diego, Ohio), Six Flags (New Jersey), and Cedar Point (Ohio) to name a few. Jimmy proudly represented Team USA in the 2003 Acapulco Cliff Diving Championships and captured a Silver Medal with teammates Todd Michael & Jason Carlton.
All this experience means Coach Jimmy has developed an exceptional ability to understand the mind of the young diver and coach them toward their goals. Coach Jimmy has designed all practices geared toward helping each diver achieve success based on their skill level.
When not at the pool, Coach Jimmy can be found spending time with his wife Stacy, daughter Delilah and son Zack, in addition playing fantasy football and rooting for his Denver Broncos.
