Grant A Hanson

Coach Grant Hanson is an ASCA level 4 coach. He has coached 11 seasons for Immanuel Christian School, which produced over a dozen CIF champion individual swims in both Division 3 and Division 4 of CIF Southern Section, multiple CIF records, and a top 10 team finish. He coached 3 summers with the High Desert Swim Team, and was assistant coach for Bakersfield Swim Club for 5 years, during which time BSC finished 1st in several CCS Junior Olympics. He has also been the head coach of Swim Club of Ridgecrest since its founding in 2009.

Coach Lhen has been a USA coach for over 15 years. She has been assistant coach for Swim Club of Ridgecrest since 2009, and previously coached 5 years with Backersfield Swim Club and 3 summers with High Desert Swim Team. She served as Aquatic Coordinator at MWR for 5 years. She is also a Red Cross certified Lifeguard Instructor and Water Safety Instructor.

Mary Logan

Mary (Hanson) Logan is an assistant coach, currently working with the younger swimmers two days per week.

Mary is an NCAA champion and a former record holder in the 100Y Back (52.45) while swimming on scholarship for California Baptist University. She also was an 8-time CIF champion, and still holds several CIF division 4 records, swimming for Immanuel Christian School. She is also the fastest female swimmer ever to come from Ridgecrest, with a 50 free time of 22.61. However, she frequently gets disqualified for being underwater past the 15 meter mark.

Benjamin G Harvey

Ben Harvey is a graduate of the University of Utah where he earned both his B.S. and Ph.D in Inorganic Chemistry.  Ben, his wife Stacy, and his two children, Frank and Olivia, came to Ridgecrest in 2006.  He works as a research chemist at China Lake NAWS specializing in the development of renewable fuels and composite materials.  Stacy is a special education preschool teacher at Gateway Elementary.  In high school, Ben was a life guard, taught swimming lessons, and competed as both an age group and high school swimmer, specializing in butterfly and sprint freestyle.  He held long-standing school records in both the 100 and 200 freestyle and in 1993 was the Utah state champion in the 100 freestyle and anchored a 200 freestyle relay that held the Utah 3A/4A state record for nearly 20 years.  Ben swam one year for the University of Utah and then focused on his studies for the duration of his college experience.  In line with the mission statement of the IWV swim team, Ben is excited to help your children reach their full potential in both swimming and life.
