CMA Coaching Staff
Nothing has a greater influence on the quality of children’s sports than the excellence of the coach.
The Cheyenne Mountain Aquatics staff consists of professionally trained coaches. They, as member
coaches of the American Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA), have access to the most
comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States.
Certified coaches in U.S.Swimming programs possess training and experience in the physiology and psychology of adolescent development.
Below are biographies of the CMA Swim Team staff, as well as some of their accomplishments. All
CMA coaches have undergone background checks through USA Swimming’s Coaches Background
Check system, and all have current certifications in American Red Cross First Aid, CPR and Coaches Safety Training.
We are here to support your needs.  If you have any questions related to workouts, meets, events, goal setting, and other swimming related needs, please contact one of the coaches.  For all questions related to administrative, such as dues, safety, or policy issues, please contact the head coach or a board member.

Head Coach/CEO

Coach Bob is the Head Coach and CEO of the Cheyenne Mountain Aquatics Swim Team. Bob has been involved in swimming since 1971 with the last 36 years as a coach. He has coached at the club and high school level his entire career. His accomplishments are numerous and can be found in his coaching biography

Bob is passionate about the swimmer's that he works with and works hard to develop outstanding character traits while making the sport of swimming fun for every one of them. His greatest memories are of those "firsts" for each of his swimmers. Making a championship cut for the first time, swimming a legal 200 Fly or 400 IM for the first time, or simply getting their first award are just some of the great memories that he is most proud of.

Bob shares his love for the sport of swimming with his loving wife Kristen, two daughters, two sons, three grandchildren, as well as two horses, two cats and two guinea pigs. In his spare time, Bob loves to vacation by cruising, watching football and living on island time.

Kristen Jenkyns

Head Age Group Coach

Head Age Group Coach/ Lead Junior & Age Group Gold Coach

Coach Kristen's lifelong passion for the sport of swimming began at the age of 7, when she joined her local summer league swim team.  Year round club swimming quickly followed and by the age of 12 she was ranked in the top 16 in the nation in her age group.  In high school, she swam varsity and competed at the state meet all four years, finishing in the top 8 multiple times in breaststroke and sprint freestyle events.  She began her coaching career in 1987, while in college at Western Washington University, as the head coach for the local high school team.  In her first year there, she led the team to a top five state finish for the first time in the school’s history.

After a few years break to focus on raising her young children, Coach K has been coaching age group and/or high school swimming continuously since 2002. She coached age group swimmers at Lake Country Swim Team in Wisconsin from 2002-2005 and 2012-2015.  She was the Arrowhead High School Girls Varsity Reserve Coach from 2002-2004 and the Head Coach of the Hartford Union High School Girls Swim Team from 2005-2014.  In 2013, Kristen was also named the Hartford Union High School Head Boys Coach.In 10 years there, she and husband Bob led that team to an unprecedented 8 consecutive WLT Conference Championships.  Their swimmers at Arrowhead and Hartford High Schools continuously broke school and pool records, Wisconsin state records, and even National records, with their girls 200 medley relay in 2005 and 2006. Needless to say, many of their swimmers have gone on to swim in college. In addition to swim coaching, Kristen’s full-time job from 2006-2015 was running her home daycare, K’s Playce Family Childcare.

In March 2015, Coach K and Coach Bob moved from Wisconsin to Colorado Springs and began coaching for CMA Swim Team.  As Head Age Group Coach and the lead coach for our Junior and Age Group Gold Groups, Kristen has led our team and swimmers to many successes, including coaching several state champions and a Western Zone Champion.  She was asked to be a staff coach for Team Colorado at the 2017 Western Zone Championships and has been nominated Colorado Age Group Coach of the Year for 2018.

Kristen and her husband, Coach Bob, have four young adult children:  Danielle, Melanie, Chris, and Kyle, who all grew up swimming.  Their oldest daughter and son swam in college on NCAA Division I swimming scholarships and completed their collegiate swimming careers as captains of their respective teams.  The family also includes son-in-laws Falco (Danielle's husband) and Jason (Melanie's husband), two sweet little grandsons - Fynn and Rhett, and adorable new granddaughter - Sloane. They also have two cats - Romeo and Asher, two guinea pigs - Snickers and Mouse, and two horses - Chance and Madison.  Kristen’s lifelong passions are her family, competitive swimming, working with young children, and horse training/showing/trail riding!

Simone also swam during high school for Fayetteville Terry Sanford and Cheyenne Mountain. She began coaching with CMA in the fall of 2011 with the Age Group Bronze and Silver athletes. She now coaches the swimmers of Age Group Gold and Juniors with Coach Kristen. Simone is also a graduate of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in May 2015 from the Beth-El College of Nursing and Health Sciences and is approaching three years of inpatient nursing experience. She continues her love of working with all children as a pediatric nurse when she is not on deck. Simone loves coaching, because it gives her the opportunity to make a positive impact and promote swimming for life.

Diana M Hall

Age Group Bronze & Silver Coach

Lead Age Group Copper, Bronze & Silver Coach

Diana grew up in Fort Worth, TX and enjoyed swimming as a youth. It wasn’t until she was in her final year of college that she really began to swim and fell in love with the sport. She began swimming for a local Masters team. It was her passion and love for swimming that lead her to Colorado after a successful career as a chef. Diana began coaching for CMA with the Gold group and Masters team. Soon after starting with the team, she became the lead coach for Age Group Copper, Bronze, and Silver. Diana has been with CMA for 6 years and has loved every moment of it. She enjoys the meet management and operations side of the team and takes great pride in running great meets. In her spare time, she does enjoy swimming, rock climbing, weight lifting, and reading. She is also a very amateur gardener and baker.

Falco M Fleischmann

Head Senior Coach

Falco grew up internationally as the son of a German Diplomat. He began his swimming career at the age of 11 months while taking baby lessons and retired from active swimming at the age of 25. He started coaching in the fall of 1997 with the University of Tennessee Continuing Education Program. Over the years he has coached at all levels, from beginners to Olympic Trials.

He enjoys helping swimmers achieve their potential regardless of the level that they achieve. He is a big believer in having well rounded swimmers that are able to compete at any stroke or distance. His main goal is for swimmers to develope a deep love of the sport so that they remain active swimmers into adulthood, either competively or recreationally.

Falco shares his passion for the sport with his wife and son and two cats. Someday hopefully a dog too.
