Natasha Anna-Maria Niesen
Substitute Coach
“Tasha” is our newest
coach. Her
love of the sport and a desire to help the young swimmers, led her
back into the coaching arena. Tasha obtained her Coaching
Certification from USA Swimming in the fall of 2015. She is now the
competitive team assistant coach.
Tasha’s parents threw her in
the water before she could walk. All through her childhood,
high school, and college she> She swam with Hillside
Aquatics team, The Claremont Club, high school varsity team, and
college team. She swam at JO’s and
championship meets. She represented her high school at CIF
for 4 years. She
also coached for the Corona Swim Team back in the early 90's for a
short period of time. And, as if fresh water
wasn’t enough, she also swam for over 20 years as a
Master’s Swimmer, in the ocean and competed in ‘rough
water’ events. Her best strokes are
backstroke and IM.
Tasha is also a member of The American
Swimming Coaches Association (ASCA), World Swimming Coaches
Association (WSCA) and United States Masters Swimming
(USMS).
Juleen Montoya
Development Coach
Coach Juleen brings with her a repertoire of experience both in and out of the water. Juleen is a swimmer herself and started coaching right out of high school back in 1997. She then took a short break and returned in 2009 when she became a certified coach.
The below list notes a few of the many accomplishments of Juleen: level 2 age group coach, level 3 masters instructor, BLS, CPR and CPRO instructor, CPR for the lay responder instructor, certified stroke technician, certified lifeguard, lifeguard instructor and trainer, certified water safety instructor and trainer, advanced first aide for the professional responder, certified pool operator and aquatic facility operator, certified aquatics director. The most important one is that she is a Certified Stroke Technician. This is very exciting as she brings to the table a lot of experience for our newest or more novice CROCS learning stroke development, the foundation of swimming. Plus it’s her favorite thing to teach!
