Eileen M Wilkinson

Head Coach

Eileen Wilkinson, Coach W, is the Head Coach of the Leesburg Titans Swim Program.

Coach W started her swimming career in Northern NY, when she was almost 5 years old. She learned the basics of swimming in the many lakes that surrounded her childhood hometown. She joined her first swim team at the local YWCA when she was 5. Because of cutbacks in budgeting that team shut its doors, but within a week Coach W had joined her first USA swim team. She swam for 10 years as a USA swimmer. She competed all over the state of NY and parts of Canada, even attended Regional Junior Olympics twice.

Throughout middle and high school Coach W swam competitively with her school team, she even held a school record for a realy team until recently. She also made New York State sectionals 3 times in high school.

Always wanting the water close to her, Coach became an American Red Cross certified lifeguard at the age of 16 and then followed that path for the next 7 years. During that time she worked at her high school pool, a neighboring school pool and at the local military base aquatics center. She became an American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor for 5 years. She moved up the Red Cross ladder quickly, successfully becoming a Lifeguard Instructor Trainer and a Water Safety Instructor Trainer.  She taught hundreds of children how to swim and dive throughout the years. She also taught many soldiers how to swim in general, how to swim in combat gear, and water survival skills. She taught water aerobics for 4 years at the military base and headed up their lap swim adult club. When she left her job at the base she was a head lifeguard and an assistant to the pool operator.

She left the United States in support of our soldiers in Iraq. She lived in and traveled all over Iraq for a little over 2 years. There, amoungst many other things, she was director of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation program for the US Army in her region. While there, she brought life back to several pools located in some of the most beautiful palaces.

Once back on US soil, Coach W finished her college degree in New Hampshire. Along with her new husband, she traveled the US and settled in Florida.

Coach W has been a Physical Education Assistant for the past year and a half, which is where she learned about the Leesburg Titans!

Coach W, her husband and 3 children reside in the Clermont\Groveland area. When not on deck Coach W enjoys volunteering, doing crafts, spending time with her family and traveling.

Coach W brings a new level of energy, new insights, new foundations, and new skills for varying levels of training.
