Matt Pavlik

Assistant Coach

Coach Matt has been involved in swimming for most of his life.  He brings over 30 years of total experience as a swimmer and coach.  He grew up in suburban Chicago and graduated from Hinsdale South High School. He swam three years and earned all conference nods in all three. He then took his swimming career to stints at University of Illinois- Chicago, Indian River Community College, and lastly Florida Atlantic. Through his college career he garnered all conference and all-American status.
Coach Matt began his coaching career at the team he grew up swimming for in Illinois in 2010. While there he primarily assisted with the senior group and 11-12 age group to begin.  After his first season, he was promoted to Head Assistant Coach and was involved in all age groups by becoming the primary 10 & under coach along with his previous duties in the other age groups.  Matt was with the Westmont Swim Club for 3 years when he decided to take the position of Head Age Group Coach at Patriot Aquatic Club in Lincolnshire Illinois.  He spent a year there leading and monitoring all the 14 & under swimmers.
Matt had then decided to return to Florida to be closer to family and closer to his daytime job that is based in Florida.  In 2014, he joined the coaching staff at SPAC in Orange Park where he met Coach John and then reunited with him when Storm Swim Club was formed. Shortly after, Chicago came calling again and after a 3-year stint, he is finally back in Jacksonville, and with the Storm Swim Club.
