Coaches & Directors

SeaWolves Swim Team is dedicated to the development of the mind, body, and spirit of our swimmers.  For us swimming should mold the determination, work ethic, attention-to-detail, and attitude of our swimmers and their families.  We recognize that competitive swimming is a serious investment of time and resources for the families that join us, whether you are swimming for the summer or as much as year round.   We don’t take that commitment from our families lightly and we try to give back 3-fold to our members.  We train our swimmers to take responsibility for their actions, both in the water and out of the water.  Our job is to guide and nurture our swimmers in their development to ensure their best success possible.

If your questions are related to workouts, meets, events, goal setting, and other swimming related needs, please contact one of the coaches. For all questions related to administrative, such as dues, safety, or policy issues, please contact one of the board members.

Coaching Staff

Nathan Wilson

Head Coach

Coach Nathan has dedicated his life’s work to teaching and coaching kids.  By day he is a full time elementary teacher and by night he coaches SeaWolves. Originally a devoted football coach, Nathan switched to coaching swimming when he was about 20 years old and has been a head swim coach since 2015. He was an Assistant Swim Coach for the Griffin Gators for one year and Head Coach for the Griffin Gators (in Spalding county GA) for two years.

Shelby Wilson

Stroke School Coach

As the wife of Nathan and the daughter of Eric, it is easy to understand how Shelby is in the middle of everything that is SeaWolves!  She has directed Learn-to-Swim and Stroke School programs for many years now.  An avid swimmer all through middle school and high school, Shelby continues to swim and race in Triathlons in the area. She was Assistant Swim Coach for Griffin Gators (Spalding county GA) for three years and Vice President for Griffin Gators for one year.

Eric Snell

Advanced Competition Program Coach

Coach Eric started coaching swimmers in this area in 2003 and has been the driving force behind the swim program for hundreds of local swimmers.   Voted one of the Top 10 Most Influential People by Swimming World Magazine in 2016, Coach Eric is actively involved in the worldwide competitive swimming industry.  His training inventions sparked numerous patents and swim products for his family-owned company SwimmersBest ( Eric was the Head Coach for Lamar county swim team for 3 years. He also coached the advanced team for Griffin Gators (Spalding County GA) for 3 years. He also owned and operated the Snellson Extreme Team (Meansville in Pike County GA) for 10 years.

Bethany Tilson

Technique Coach

In many ways Bethany is the reason for much of the SeaWolves.  Coach Bethany had a passion to coach swimming from the time she was a young teenager and therefore started the seeds of our program back in 2013 or earlier.  With no year round program in the area at the time, she began working with her dad, Eric, to create not only a great swim training program for local swimmers, but also a very large youtube training channel for her own videos.  Along with Eric, her brother Jackson (engineering), and sister Mallory (Marketing), Bethany launched SwimmersBest products.  She attends all national and regional swim conventions and spends her time working side-by-side some of the very top college coaches in this nation.  With her travel and school work, Bethany is a back-up coach most of the time and our go-to coach to solve unique technique problems throughout the year. Bethany has been an apprentice coach under 2016 Olympic Head Coach, David Marsh, working with olympic swimmers on a regular basis. Previously she has been both a head coach and an assistant coach for the Griffin Gators (Spalding county GA) for 4 years.

Hugh and Tabetha Cooper

Dryland Coaches

The Coopers not only provide the ‘glue’ to the operational side of SeaWolves, they also run one of the most comprehensive dryland exercise programs in the state.  Both diehard triathletes, the Coopers are hands-on with their program to ensure great form and precision. They reside in Griffin (Spalding county) GA.

Carrie Snell

Technique Coach

Along with her husband, Eric, Carrie was voted the Top 10 Most Influential People by Swimming World Magazine in 2016 for her work in setting up and launching SwimmersBest.  Coach Carrie is a staple of our summer swim program and helps fill in and solve technique problems throughout the year. She has coached for 3 years on the Griffin Gators (Spalding county GA), 3 years for Lamar County Nitrofish (Barnesville GA), as well as 10 years for the Snellson Extreme Team (Meansville in Pike County GA).
