Coach Johnnie Means has experienced success in a wide range of personal and professional endeavors. He has served as one of the former Aquatics Directors for the National Youth Sports Program, sponsored by the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Texas Southern University (TSU) in Houston for more than 25 years. One of his greatest accomplishments was his devoted service as the TSU Aquatics Director and head coach for the varsity swim team. During his tenure at TSU, he coached All American Collegiate swimmers and one of the top swim teams in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletes (NAIA). 

Coach Means and his wife, Lynn, have been married for 47 years and have two children, Shelley and Troy, and four grnadchildren, Julian, Jordan, Jiar and Vanessa.

Developmental Group- Natatorium

Education: University of Houston- B.S. Kinesiology – Exercise Science  

Coach Falon is an original member of HCAP, and one of the team’s most successful swimmers. She was an Olympic Trial qualifier in 2000, and has been coaching with the team for 8 years. Coach Falon works with the Junior training group.

Coach Mo has also been with HCAP since its inception and has touched all aspects of HCAPs program and success. Coach Mo currently works with the young development group out of the Johnnie Means Swimming Pool.

Coach Paul “Grasshopper” Rodgers has been with HCAP since its inception and works swimmers out of Attucks Middle School. Coach Grasshopper is a passionate, driven individual who loves working with young swimmers.

Julian Wilkins

Coach Julian is an ASCA Level 3 coach who comes to HCAP with 10 years of coaching experience. Before
coaching with the Eagle Swimming Association as the Head Age Group Coach (2013-2014), Julian spent
the previous 9 years at the Baltimore City Swim Club. While there Julian worked with athletes of all ages
and levels. Leading and developing multiple athletes to Maryland State Championships, Sectionals,
Zones, US OPEN, Arena Pro-Grand Prix Series, and National Qualifiers. In addition Coach Julian led the
Baltimore Polytechnic Institute to 8 consecutive District IX Men’s and Women’s High School
Championships.
Julian has been involved in USA Swimming local LSC government in multiple ways over the past 10 years:
Maryland LSC Diversity Liaison, Maryland Zone Team Assistant Coach, Maryland Diversity Team
Assistant Coach, and GULF swimming Catch the Spirit Camp. Most recently Julian served as the Camp
Manger for 2015 USA Swimming National Diversity Select Camp (2015 Colorado Springs).
Julian received his AA degree in Social Work from Bowie State University where he was a team captain,
regional and national qualifier. Coach Julian credits his love for swimming and coaching to his mentor
and age group Coach Russell Williams of the Baltimore City Swim Club.
