Coach David has been coaching for over 35 years. He has coached every level from toddler through adult. His main focus over the years has been on competitive swimmers having been a national level athlete himself. Coach David is a certified Masters Swimming coach, level 2, with United States Masters Swimming and has been coaching with FLEET for three years.

Coach David wants to help every adult swim to the level they choose while helping with stroke technique, endurance and explanations of how to swim and feel good doing it. He coaches many practices a week as well as swimming regularly himself.

Dana Cristen Jacob

Dana Jacob joined the FLEET coaching staff in spring 2013. Dana works part time as a kids’ coach in the evening and, masters coach. Dana has been a competitive swimmer since she was 7 years old. Her coaching style is energetic, positive, and technique-driven.  She enjoys "giving back" to the sport that has given her so much throughout her life. 

Dana spent her childhood swimming in Jonesboro, AR where she was AR swimmer of the year and qualified for zones at 12 yrs. old.  She qualified for Jr. Nationals at 14 yrs. old and swam in this meet the next 3 years, placing as high as 8th in the 100 back.  She was coached under Sam Kendricks, who is presently the meet announcer for Olympic Trials, along with other major national meets. During her high school years, Dana swam for Sunkist Swim Team in Jackson, MS. She was recruited by several top schools in the US as a backstroker and decided on Texas A&M University.  Dana swam and lettered each year at Texas A&M- 1996-2000, in which her last year was under Steve Bultman.  

Dana graduated and became a Human Resources Manager for 5 years. She then entered the world of swimming again and built a year around swim program at Clay Road YMCA in Houston. She was the Head Coach there for 4 years.  Dana and her husband, Jason, have 3 small boys who keep them on their toes! Jason was on the Texas A&M Track & Field Team and threw the hammer '96-'00.  Dana currently enjoys competing in sprint triathlons and half marathons.
