Coaching Staff and Board Members

All of our Coaches are USA Swimming Certified Members and are the only people authorized by USA Swimming to train your swimmer. Coaches must maintain certification in CPR, Safety Training for Swim Coaches, complete athlete protection & prevention of abuse in sport training, coaching foundation education and background screening requirements. Some are also members of the American Swim Coaches Association, which requires completion of additional continuing education for certification.

The administration of the Team (registration of swimmers, financial management, etc.) fall upon the Hickam Hurricanes Parents Association Board of Directors.  These members are parent volunteers that have generously agreed to donate their time to help ensure the team is administratively sound and successsful. The Coaches and Board Members are here to support your needs. If your questions are related to workouts, meets, events, goal setting, and other swimming related needs, please contact one of the coaches. For all questions related to administrative, such as dues, registration or policy issues, please contact one of the board members.

Polly Stephanie Massaro

Assistant Coach

I greatly enjoy the sport of swimming and passing on my lifetime love of swimming to others. From a very young age I was an excellent swimmer, however I only swam in a handful of races because I played numerous other sports. In high school I was a three sport varsity athlete. In college I sailed for the University of Hawaii at Manoa, where I graduated with a degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. I have taught swimming lessons, sailing lessons, coached sailing, and been a lifeguard for many years. I fondly look forward to coaching this wonderful sport for many more years to come.
