Shawn A Donohue
ASCA Level 4 Head Coach
Aloha, I began coaching in 1981 after being a swim instructor for 3 years at the local YMCA. I am an ASCA 1 and 2 level instructor and middle school science teacher. Cathy and I have been married for 16 yrs. & have 3 children whom all swim. I've been coaching all levels of swimming and water polo for the past 30 years, including gold medalist, Kami Craig. Living on Maui allows me to enjoy body boarding and playing music. I have had the honor of being head zone coach for both USA Water Polo and USA Swimming.
ASCA Level 1 Age Group Lead
Aloha, my name is Andrea Reiley. I
was born in Beverly, Massachusetts but raised here on Maui since I
was 8 years old. I've been a competitive age group swimmer
since I was 11 and also played waterpolo all through middle and
high school. My favorite events were always the 200 breastroke and
distance freestyle events. I attended Gordon College in
Beverly, Massachusetts where I graduated in May of 2009 with a
degree in recreation, leisure and sports studies, concentrating in
outdoor education. I spent the majority of my years in college
outdoors, guiding wilderness backpacking and canoe trips in the
summers and facilitating challenge courses for the schools' outdoor
education department during the school year. In my free time I swam
for my Division III college team, the Fighting Scots, coached for
an age group club team on the North Shore, helped start North Shore
Thunderstruck Water Polo, a club team in Salem, Massachusetts,
and also was the recreation coordinator for the Gordon
College intramural department. Since graduating from Gordon
College, I've moved back home to Maui where I lifeguard full time
for the County of Maui and of course coach swimming here at Island
Aquatics. In my free time I like to hit the hiking trails with
friends, go running, head out for an early morning ocean
swim, play disc golf, a game of pick up basketball, or just
relax with a book.
Shekinah C.J. Perry
Age Group Coach
Aloha my name is Shekinah Perry,ýI was born in Saipan and moved to Maui at the age of 5 1/2.ýI began swimming when I was 6 years old for HSC. I swam and competed with the club for 3 years and then my mom started coaching us on our own in public pools.ýEver since I was little, my best and favorite stroke was butterfly.ýI also competed through 2 and a half years of high school. Being raised here gave me great opportunities to do other sports such as softball, water polo, and surfing. I love anything that has to do with the ocean, and would really like to expand my water sports activities. I was home-schooled until I went into high-school, and have just recently graduated from Kihei Charter School.
