Demian J Werner

Owner, Safety Officer, ISI Delegate


Demian is a Certified Level 3 Coach through ASCA and has owned and operated Lane Four Aquatics since 2011. S hortly thereafter he founded one of Iowa's largest swim invites "Swim Pink".  In 2018 Demian hired a new, highly accomplished, Head Coach to oversee athlete development and training. He continues to oversee the team's operations and support structure.

Demian began competitive swimming at the age of six in Aurora, Colorado for Mission Viejo.  He then swam for Lyons Township under Olympian Ross Seymour and finally at Westmont Swim Club under his coach and mentor Dave Krotiak.  

Demian applied his swimming talent to his first career as a decorated Navy SEAL for over 10 years.  As a SEAL Demian specialized as a corpsman, scout swimmer, and sixty gunner.  He was also known for his abilities to hold his breath under water, carry a wounded soldier (in or out of the water) and his trauma medical skills.  His favorite sayings from his military years and slogans he lives by include: "The Only Easy Day was Yesterday," and "We don't take these risks to escape life but rather to keep life from escaping us."

He is married to Sally and has three children, Peyton, Cody and Max.

Alexa Elle Harris

Operations Director, Asst Coach


Alexa has been swimming since an early age and has always excelled in swimming, in particular the backstroke and more recently butterfly. She swam for Moline High School until she graduated in 2009 when she went on to compete at the collegiate level for Division 1 at Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio. Alexa graduated in 2013 with a degree in Early Childhood Education.  Additionally, she has swum year-round for Lane Four Aquatics since 2011.

Alexa has numerous swimming accomplishments including high school, college and USA swimming.  Most notably, Alexa qualified for the 2012 US Olympic Trials in the 200 Backstroke and the 2016 US Olympic Trials in the 100 Butterfly.

Outside of the pool Alexa works for the Moline School District and enjoys theater and performing arts, Disney princesses, her dog, working out, and cooking!

Alexa enjoys working with athletes at all levels and oversees the Pulling Water Learn to Swim lesson program.  In addition to developing young swimmers, she has expertise in preparing for national and pro-level meets, nutrition for swimming, and dryland training.  Alexa is a life-long swimmer that knows the sacrifices along with the benefits of competing in the sport!

Andrea L Gutierrez

Lessons Manager, Asst Coach


Andrea Gutierrez has been teaching swim lessons to kids all over the QC and surrounding areas since age 15. She currently is a Pareducator for the Bettendorf School District and the Pool Manager at Scott County Park where in the last six years she has grown the swim lesson program from 100 kids to over 270 kids.

S he started her coaching career in 2009 when she developed the Scott County Family YMCA Dragons Swim Team. There she produced several state and regional swimmers.  She then moved to Bett Swim Club which was later named Piranhas Swim Club. There she worked with the Stroke Development group and High School Prep.

Andrea is married to Ricardo and they have twin girls Hollye and Valerie.

Outside of work Andrea likes to spend time with her family traveling, reading books, and hanging with her dogs Bella and Chino.

Andrea, Hollye, and Valerie are very excited to be a part of the Lane 4 Aquatics swim team!


Daniel Mario Rodriguez

Assistant Coach


Daniel, a graduate from Rock Island High School and Senior swimmer at West Virginia University is majoring in Electrical Engineering, has swam since an early age, below is his WVU bio!


  • Part of winning 200 free relay team at Big 12 vs. Big East Weekend (1:24.55)
  • Season-best 50 free time came at NC State Invite (21.79)
  • Swam in preliminaries in 50 free, 100 free, 100 fly as well as the 200 free relay at Big 12 Championship
  • Earned season-best 100 free time of 46.59 in Big 12 prelims


  • Swam a career-best time in the 50 freestyle (20.91) and a career-best time in the 100 freestyle (46.18)  at the Big 12 Championship
  • Posted a career-best time in the 100 butterfly with a 49.89 at the Big 12 Championship
  • Member of the 200 medley relay team, placing second with a time of 1:32.74 against TCU
  • Earned a sixth-place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 21.68 against Pitt
  • Placed 14th in the 50 freestyle with a time of 22.16 at Ohio State


  • Trained at Lane Four Aquatics while attending Black Hawk College
  • Placed fourth in the 50 freestyle with a time of 20.46 at the 2015 Speedo Champions Series
  • Swam in the 100 freestyle and placed fifth with a time of 45.60 at the Speedo Champion Series
  • Took fifth in the 100 butterfly with a time of 57.67 at the Futures Championships
