YMCA Stingrays Coaching Staff
Erika Hillabolt, Senior Head Coach
Senior Head Coach Erika Hillabolt is a former YMCA Stingray and was a record holder for many years. She started swimming at the age of 4 and was hooked. She swam her entire career for the Stingrays, as well as other clubs and schools. She has coached for Springbrook, the Marlins, West Middle School, and the Stingrays previously. Coach Erika has three young children including 2 competitive swimmers. "It's a honor to be back where I grew up and have the opportunity to pass on what I have gained from such an amazing team," says Coach Erika. "My goals are to build relationships, strengthen each swimmer's technique in the pool, and share my passion to help our swimmers reach their full potential."
Marissa Sanchez, Assistant Coach
Coach Marissa started swimming at the age of 6 months in the parent and me classes and she hasn’t stopped since. She was in swim lessons until the age of 11 and then joined the YMCA Stingrays. She swam competitively for Rockford Christian High School, and was an assistant coach for the Rockford Christian Girls Swim Team for two years after graduation. Over the past year or so she has dedicated more of her time to the YMCA, not just through the love of coaching but through swim lessons and guarding as well.
Jonathon Doyle, Assistant Coach
Coach Jonathon started swimming for the YMCA Stingrays when he was 5. His time as both a Y and Stingray member has lead him to become a staff member.
Mitchell Johnson, Assistant Coach
Coach Mitchell swam for 10 years as a member of the Stingrays and other club teams. In 2018, he represented Auburn High School at IHSA State in breaststroke and 200 IM. He graduated from Auburn High School this spring and is now attending Rock Valley College and plans to go to UW La Crosse this fall.
Emily Kretsinger, Assistant Coach
Coach Emily swam competitively for 6 years, and is also a lifeguard and swim lesson instructor. She truly love teaching kids more about her passion and is the happiest when she is in the pool.
Katie Roxworthy, Assistant Coach
Coach Katie was a Stingray for 11 years and also swam for Auburn High School, where she was team MVP and NIC-10 All-conference. Her favorite strokes are freestyle and butterfly and she enjoys working with the youngest Stingrays.
