Joe Hroma

Head Coach - Elite


Coach Joe jas been the Head Coach of the Piranhas since 2016.  As a high school swimmer at Chesterton High School in Indiana, Joe was an All American who went on to swim at Vincennes University where he finished as a 13 time JUCO All American. After college he realized his passion for the sport would never go away, and immediately began his tenure as a coach. Coach Joe has worked with teams in Indianapolis, Atlanta, and Chicago, coaching numerous state champions. Over the past ten years as a coach, he has seen his swimmers go on to represent division 1 powerhouse teams such as: Arizona, Arizona State, Indiana, Kentucky, and Purdue.

Michael Roche

Associate Head Coach - Platnium Elite


Michael is a local product who was born and raised in the Quad Cities area. He reigns from a family dedicated to excellence and involvement in the sport. As an athlete Coach Roche has a wealth of personal experience to pull from. He was a High School State Qualifier multiple years in Illinois and represented Iowa Central College where he medaled 8 times on the national scene. Most recently, Michael re-built the Moline Blue Marlins from scratch and has seen the program regain strength in the area. In a short period of time Coach Michael has produced numerous Regional, State, Sectional, and National Qualifiers. Coach Roche is also the girls and boys head coach at Moline High School. Coach Michael is excited to join the Piranhas and help it continue to reach new heights.

Alan Dassow



Coach Alan will primarily work with the Senior group. As a high school swimmer at Niles West High School in the northern suburbs of Chicago he competed in mid-distance free, IM and was a state finalist. Coach Alan attended Iowa State University and competed in distance free and 400 IM events. He was a finalist at the Big 8 Championship. Over the past 28 years Coach Alan has coached at the age group and high school level in Ames IA, Freeport IL and the Quad Cities, During this time he has coached age group state record holders, high school state finalist and developed first year freshman swimmers to state qualifying times by senior year. Currently Coach Dassow works as a middle school counselor.

Hunter E Hendrickson



Coach Hunter grew up with a strong passion for swimming. She was a competitive swimmer for 12 years. Hunter swam for Moline High School. Upon returning to the QC area, after completing her bachelors degree, she began coaching. After being the assistant for the Pleasant Valley High School girls team, Coach Hunter knew that she had a strong passion for coaching, so coaching with the Piranhas was the perfect way. Now lead coach of the Gold group, Hunter is able to share her knowledge and help kids develop skills that show up both in and out of the water.

Lillie Moore



Coach Lillie is starting her third year coaching with the Piranhas. She is primarily working with the Silver group  as well as the developmental groups.. She enjoys helping each swimmer progress and instilling the same passion for swimming that she has. Lillie is a student at St. Ambrose University majoring in exercise science with the intention of becoming a physical therapist.
