Coach Kirtis co-founded the Twinsburg Competitive Aquatics team in the Sping of 2015. TCAT has grown from a team with 50 swimmers to that of over 100 swimmers in his two years directing the program. The Tigersharks have produced swimmers who have earned Lake Erie's Top 10 times from the 2016-2018 seasons Under Kirtis' direction the team has produced multiple Speedo Sectional qualifiers and a Futures qualifier.
Coach Kirtis has been head coach of the Twinsburg High School swim team since 2013. As head coach for Twinsburg High School Kirtis sends the most Northeast District qualifiers in the history of the program each year. He has re-established Twinsburg as a team that sends swimmers to the OHSAA State Championship meet. The Tigers also achieve several school record setting times each year. Coach Kirtis was named NOC Coach of the Year 2014-2015 while the program achieved its first conference championship titles.
Coach Kirtis had several years of USA Swimming club and high school coaching experience before joining TCAT. While coaching at the club level he had swimmers qualify to the 2014 Central Zone meet and 2013 International Children’s games. Coach Kirtis assisted with Jr. National swimmers and Ohio State finalists in his previous club experiene.
Coach Kirtis graduated in 2012 with his Master’s of Sceince degree in Sports Sciences with an emphasis on Coaching Education. In 2011 he earned his Bachelor's degree in Physical Education.
As a swimmer, Coach Kirtis was a member of the Ohio University Men's Swimming and Diving program in 2006-2007 season until the program was discontinued. While at Ohio University he earned the Tad Potter Memorial Award for Teamwork, Leadership, Courage and Dedication. In high school Coach Kirtis was a four time OHSAA State Championship qualifier. He earned two All American honors for swimming in 2006.
