I love to swim. I have been competing competitively in swimming since I was 9, was lucky enough to continue into college, and still enjoy a good open water swim or triathlon. While in college I earned a Degree in Elementary Education which helps me to really understand and work with all the children who come into CAC. After graduating from college I went on and earned a Masters Degree in Outdoor Education. This degree has helped me to really focus in on experiential learning and teaching how the skills we use in the pool can also be used in the real world. I'm happy to say that all 4 of my children love the water as much as I and it is easy to find us at the pool/lake, riding our bikes, or running. I believe that we teach our kids how to live and I can't coach unless I participate in events and show how you can never stop exercising.

I am thrilled to be a part of CAC! Swimming has been a big part of my life and I want other kids to experience the fun of being part of a swim team. I am originally from DeWitt, MI, where I began swimming when I was just 7 years old. In high school, I won two individual state championships and was a two-time state record holder (100 breast and 200 IM). I finished out my competitive swimming career>

In my personal life, my husband Steve is a former Michigan State swimmer and current Delta pilot. I have two kids who swim for CAC and take part in a variety of other sports that keep me>

In being a part of CAC, I look forward to seeing the excitement and sense of accomplishment.

I started swimming for CAC when I was 7 and started coaching in 2010 as a Junior Coach. After swimming for CHS, I continued swimming at Kalamazoo College where I completed a B.A. in Physics in 2015. In the past, I've worked at Kalamazoo College Nike Summer Swim Camp as well as a learn to swim program, Nadar para Triunfar (Swim for Success), for students in the Kalamazoo area who qualify for free or reduced lunch meals. I'm currently a graduate student and teaching assistant at Michigan State University working on a M.A. in French.

I can't remember a time in my life where I wasn't at the pool on a regular basis, either as a competitor or as a coach. I love sharing lessons I've learned as a swimmer and watching swimmers improve.

I started a lot later than most of these kids, not until 8th grade. I swam all 4 years in high school and qualified for state in the 500 freestyle. I'm currently attending EMU and I hope I can help your child grow as a swimmer.

The Charles S. Cameron Pool opened in the fall of 1976, and I was a swimmer on Chelsea High School’s first swim team. I swam both my junior and senior years at CHS and then for a year at EMU. I first began coaching CAC in 1977. After graduating, I continued coaching CAC and began working as an assistant coach for Chelsea’s High School swim teams. I was also the head coach of the Chelsea’s Junior High Team. I continued with Chelsea until 1985, when I decided to open the gym. In 1988, after taking a little time off to get the gym up and running, Dexter High School and Ann Arbor Country Club asked me coach so I began coaching the AAC summer program and Dexter’s Junior High and High School Swim Teams. In 2001, I decided to take another break. This time I was away from the pool a little longer. I returned to CAC in 2015.

Swimming has always been a big part of my life. I started swimming for CAC when I was 5 years old and now swim year round with CAC and the girl’s high school team in the fall. On the high school team I swim butterfly and IM. In my years of swimming I have been to States and Junior Olympics. Other than swimming, I play soccer in the spring and participate in triathlons during the summer and love being active. As a young swimmer I loved the support and encouragement my coaches gave me. As a junior coach I work to make CAC a great place for all swimmers and help swimmers to achieve their goals.

Swimming has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I started swimming when I was 4 years old and took lessons with my twin brother, Deaglan, and with Olivia Olk, who are also jr. coaches. I've come a long way from screaming and crying in the little pool. I mostly swim backstroke and IM. Outside of CAC I play water polo and I am on the high school girls swim team. I also have an older brother and sister who both swam when they were younger as well. I enjoy seeing all the kids who have smiling faces who are happy to be here at the pool and want to improve.
