Melissa has been with the Tiger Sharks since October of 2004. Her love of swimming began at age 8 when she joined a USA club team. She competed at the state level and also swam for her high school team in Edina, Minnesota. Melissa began coaching while a sophomore at Iowa State University in Ames, IA. After graduating, she moved to Southern California to teach and coach a club team before coming to the Tiger Sharks. She is a level 2 ASCA certified coach. Melissa and her husband, Brent, have 3 children (Kira, Ashlyn and Blake) and live in New Richmond, WI. Melissa is a teacher in the New Richmond School District. When she is not coaching, she loves to swim, scrapbook and travel. As a coach, her goal is to help swimmers find their passion for the sport while developing their skills and helping them to be the best they can in and out of the pool.
