Lead Assistant Coach
This will be Chris’ sixth season with the
Bullsharks. He brings over 25 years of coaching experience
both from USS and High School levels. Previous club teams
have been Black Dog, Black Line and Richfield swim clubs. He
has also coached for St. Thomas Academy (Non-Free Coach), Jefferson
(Boys and Girls Head Coach), and Kennedy (Boys Head Coach).
Currently he looks forward to his 10th season as the Head
Coach for the Eagan Boys Swim Team where they will be defending
Conference and Section champions. He is a 5 time Section
Coach of the Year and 7 time Conference Coach of the Year and in
2015 was the Class AA Boy's Coach of the Year. Chris is also
entering his 3rd season as the Head Coach of the Northfield
High School Gator Girls team. He will be the first to remind
you that he swam exactly zero of the events that helped those teams
be successful. He feels incredibly lucky to be surrounded by
so many great families that have produced fantastic kids who happen
to enjoy the sport of swimming almost as much as Chris does.
Chris feels that our sport attracts intelligent, hardworking,
creative kids who are eager to find out just how good they can be.

Matt’s childhood dream of becoming a dolphin didn’t pan
out, so he opted for the next best thing and joined a swim team. It
was so much fun he stayed in the water for fourteen years
occasionally returning to land. During that time, Matt swam at
several levels: YMCA, club, high school, and college on a swimming
scholarship. Now in his third year at the Northfield Swim
Club, Matt’s a big fan of swimming drills and sound swimming
technique. When he’s not coaching, Matt enjoys writing and
illustrating books, skiing, sailing, windsurfing, and going on
adventures with his family.
