Bill Walsh joins Gael Aquatic Club after being Head Coach at
Club Fit Briarcliff for one season. At Club Fit he oversaw all age
groups and administrative duties. While at Club Fit he had multiple
JO and ZQ qualifiers. Before Club Fit Briarcliff he spent 6 seasons
as Assistant Age Group Coach with the Gael Aquatic Club from
2008-2014. While he was Assistant Cach he worked with swimmers in
all groups. He has coached numerous Senior Met, Junior Olympic,
Eastern Zone, SPEEDO Sectional, Futures and Junior Nationals
Qualifier as well as Metropolitan Junior Olympic Champions.
In the summer, he is the Head Coach at the Larchmont Shore Club
in Larchmont, NY. Prior to being the head coach at LSC, he was the
Assistant Coach at the New York Athletic Club in Pelham Manor where
he was in charge of the 11-17 age group. He has coached numerous
Westchester County Champions and Westchester County Swim Conference
champions as well as High Point Award winners at Counties and
Coach Walsh attended High School at Notre Dame High School in West
Haven, CT, where he was a part of 3 CT State Championship Teams and
gained All-State and All American Honors in his senior year. After
High School Coach Walsh continued his swimming career at Iona
College, where he scored at the MAAC Championships throughout his 4
years of eligibility. Bill excelled in the 100, 200 Fly and 200,
500 Freestyles. Bill received the most dedicated award in his
Sophomore, Junior and Senior seasons and was captain in his Senior

Sean enters his fourth season coaching with GAEL Aquatic Club, Sean began his coaching career at North Shore Aquatics on Long Island and worked with all age groups. Sean swam competitively for ten years concluding his career at Stony Brook University. Sean started his swimming career on Connetquot Swim Club at age 11. Sean swam for Connetquot High School under coach Larry Sullivan, earning All Long-Island and All-State honors Sophomore, Junior and Seniotr years. After High School, he continued his career at Stony Brook University. He was a finalist at Conference Championships all four years. In his Senior season he finished Third in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 1:39.76. Sean was a captain in his Senior season.
Also, Sean has been an ocean lifeguard for the past 7 years working for the Town of Islip on Fire Island. He has also competed in the Great South Bay Cross Bay Swim three times and was the Champion in 2009. Sean also has competed in Lifeguarding Tournaments including National and Regional Championships. Sean also works for the City of Yonkers Fire Department as a full time Firefighter.
Alexandra M Aliapoulios
Alex Aliapoulios enters her third-year of coaching with GAEL
Aquatic Club after graduating from Iona College in May with her
bachelor’s degree in Marketing. Growing up swimming since she
can remember, along with competing at the Division One college
level all four years, Alex is extremely passionate, and dedicated
to the sport and culture of swimming.
Prior to coaching at the GAEL Aquatic Club, Alex was the
Associate head coach at Newfield Swim Club in Stamford, Connecticut
for three summers. With her time at Newfield, she directed a staff
of four to build an undefeated Division I competitive swim
environment while simultaneously rebuilding an introductory swim
program offering kids more access to competitive swimming.
Alex swam competitively for fourteen years, concluding her
career at Iona College as the Women’s 2017-2018 team captain.
Coach Alex attended New Canaan High school where she was a part of
four Connecticut state Championship teams in addition to earning
All American, and All-State in freestyle. In college she scored at
the MAAC Championships all four years in the 100, 200, and 500
freestyles, medaling in the 200 freestyle with eighth place her
