Ken has been coaching for 34 years in both the Maryland Swimming LSC and the CMSL. He has held coaching positions at Shipleys Choice, Crofton Swim and Tennis, Rollingwood, Chartwell Country Club, Andover, CCERA and Suburbia. His USA Swimming career started at the Catonsville YMCA where he was coach of the year in 1989. Ken left CATY for deeper waters and started coaching with NAAC. He coached the Senior developmental group and developed 8 junior national swimmers, 4 senior national swimmers and one Olympic Trial Qualifier. With the Annapolis Swim Club, Ken has developed several MD All Star Champs, one Future qualifier, one Junior National qualifier and one 4 NICSCA Junior National qualifiers. He has also coached several swimmers who have been ranked on the USA Swimming top ten list in several events and one MD swimmer who set and still holds several breaststroke records state records.
Ken graduated from Towson University with a teaching degree and a bachelor of science degree in English. He also has a degree in paralegal studies that he used before becoming a father of and a full time coach. When his family grew and the twin girls arrived, he quit his professional career and became the "Mr. Mom" of the family and followed his love of swimming and began his professional coaching career that now has span for over 34 years.
Ken enjoys coaching all levels of swimmers, from the 5 year-old beginner to the national level swimmer. He mostly enjoys working with the 12 & under swimmers due to their high level of energy and his love of family-friendly jokes, riddles and Disney trivia.
