Candace Pearson, Head Coach

Candace joined the Neptunes staff after coaching with a Masters level team. As a swimmer, she began her training with the City of Plano Swim Team, an accomplished program with multiple Olympic Trials qualifiers under a coaching staff experienced in coaching world class athletes. Candace was a Texas Age Group champion, Junior Nationals qualifier at age 12, Junior National Long Course Champion, Senior National qualifier, and Olympic Trials qualifier. In college, Candace was a four year varsity letter winner as a scholarship athlete at Arizona State University, where she was also captain of the swim team and an Academic All-American. Candace holds a BS in Exercise Science and Sports Studies from Arizona State University.


Vic Riffel, Assistant Coach

Vic is a graduate of Missouri State University where he swam for the Bears for four years and was a school record holder. Vic was a Sectional, Junior and Senior National qualifier. Vic graduated with a bachelor degree in Business and a masters degree in Sports Management. Vic is currently a manager for The Starting Block.


Kyrsten Rezac, Assistant Coach

Kyrsten swam competitively at the University of Arkansas Little Rock where she holds 2 school records. She swam for Maize High School and was a Zones and Sectional qualifier. Kyrsten is currently attending Wichita State University where she is pursuing a graduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders.


Meryl Miller, Assistant Coach

Meryl joins the Neptunes staff after leading a highly successful summer league team with several championships in the Kansas City area as a head coach. She swam competitively with the Kansas City Blazers. She and her husband own a business in the Maize area.


Jill Sanderson, Assistant Coach
Jill was a competitive swimmer from the age of 8. She also was the head coach of a club team in Michigan with the most swimmers qualifying for the state meet in the history of the club. Jill was also active with a swim lessons program and as a lifeguard. Jill completed her degree in Civil Engineering and works with a major company in her field.


Robert Phillips, Strength Coach
Robert is from the personal training side of the YMCA. As an athlete with a background in swimming, he brings specialized insight to the strength program. Robert graduated with a BS in Exercise Science and Human Performance from Wichita State University. He is an ACSM Health and Fitness Specialist as well as a Foundations of Strength & Conditioning trainer.
