Coach Bob
Peterson
Bob Peterson is the CEO and head
coach of Badfish Aquatics. He has been a fixture in the Charlotte
swim scene since 1990, when he began his coaching career. After
swimming at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte, he began
coaching at the YMCA, Garinger High School, Charlotte Country Club,
and various USA swimming clubs located in Charlotte. These
experiences taught Coach Bob a lot in those 17 years and provided
him the direction and drive for what he wanted in a year round swim
club.
In 2007, Badfish was born.
Bob is currently the head coach at
Charlotte Country Day school where he has been since 1999; he has
been named the Charlotte Observer High School coach of the year,
coached National qualifiers, Individual Sectional and State
Champions, and top 16 ranked swimmers. While Coach Bob appreciates
a fast swim, he is more appreciative of developing well rounded
kids who succeed both in the water and out of it.
Coach Bob and his wife, Jamie, a
school teacher, have both dedicated their lives in and out of the
pool and classroom, to the development of young kids. They know how
important it is surround children with love and guidance in order
to facilitate their growth. They have made this the trademark of
Badfish Aquatics.
Coach Hunter
Brawley
Hunter Brawley is an assistant
coach at Badfish Aquatics. He began his swimming career at
Badfish’s home pool, Rama Swim Club, at the ripe age of 4!
Eventually, he made the leap to swim for a USA swimming club team,
here in Charlotte. He also swam at Providence High School, where he
was All-Conference and All-State, taking home the State
Championship, as a team, 3 years in a row.
After attending Limestone College
on a swimming scholarship, Hunter has returned home to Charlotte to
finish school and do what he loves most: coaching and working on
the development of young swimmers into accomplished year round
swimmers.
