I am thrilled to be coaching such a competitive, and driven team
that strives for excellence.
I go by Ivo for short and I coach Levels 2 Select and
Varsity at Cary Swim Club. I was born in Bulgaria where my parents
put me on a competitive swim team when I was 7 (and I hated it :)
However, by my Freshman year in college I had realized that I just
wasn't good enough at soccer and I walked on the Campbellsville University Swim Team where I
had the pleasure to swim under the 1998 NAIA National Swimming Coach of the Year,
Coach Brownley. I graduated with a degree in
Exercise Science (which combines Physiology of Exercise and
Kinesiology). My first coaching job was as a
Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Campbellsville Tiger Sharks during a part of
my Junior year in College. I believe in science-based coaching,
critical reasoning when designing sets/workouts, adapting to the
swimmers needs/performance, and being creative with
