Coach Walls just finished his Twelfth year of coaching. A native of Indiana, Coach Walls has been involved with swimming for nineteen years as an athlete and a coach. A state finalist in cross country, swimming, and track & field Coach Walls went on to compete in all three sports at the University of Indianapolis, a division II institution. Coach Walls transferred to UND in the fall of 1997. Currently an ASCA level Four age group coach, Coach Walls has coached YMCA All Americans, multiple zone and age group state champions as well as several high school state champions. North Dakota coach of the year in the summer of 2002 and spring of 2003 and winter of 2009 Coach Walls has been the head coach of the RRVY Wahoos since the fall of 2002. Coach Walls also teaches sixth grade art at Valley Middle School and South Middle School in Grand Forks, ND.
He currently lives in Grand Forks with his wife Sara, son Jackson, and twin daughters Madiline and Reese.
Head Age Group Coach
Chelsea is in her second year of coaching for the Wahoos,
although it is her first time with the Wahoos, she is a native to
the UND Hyslop and swimming. She has been swimming since she was 6
in her small town of Marshall, MN. She grew up swimming for the
Southwest Swim Club where her dad was the head coach and eventually
made her way to high school swimming as a 7th grader. Chelsea
continued to swim throughout high school earning Section MVP and
All State Honors during her senior season. She was recruited by the
University of North Dakota and spent two years swimming as a
Fighting Sioux in mid-distance and distance freestyle events. She
earned All American honors in the 4 by 200 freestyle relay at the
Division II NCAA finals. She graduated from the University of North
Dakota with a Bachelors degree in Psychology and a minor in
Leadership, as well as a Masters degree in Higher Education.
Chelsea very much enjoys her time at the pool and learns something
new every day from her swimmers. She looks forward to many
more seasons to come.
Senior Group Coach
Daniel is in his fourth year of coaching for the Wahoos and has
been with this team since he began his swimming career.
He grew up in Grand Forks, North Dakota and started swimming
in sixth grade. As he got older, he decided to stick with swimming
and joined the Knightriders High School swim team where he
swam for six years. He was captain for two of those years and swam
well enough to qualify for the second all-state team. With the
wahoos, he went to the YMCA nationals with team North Dakota and
got to experience a big meet for the first time. After graduating
high school, Daniel enrolled at the University of North Dakota as a
Pre-medical Biology major with a minor in chemistry and hopes to
eventually one day become a physician for North Dakota. Alongside
swimming, Daniel works at the hospital as a certified nurse
assistant helping patients with activities of daily care. Daniel
loves working at the pool due to his love for the sport and the
randomness from his kids.
Age Group Coach
Amanda Warzecha is in her third-year coaching for the Wahoos. Originally from Minnesota, Coach Amanda has been involved in aquatics for over ten years as an athlete and coach. She competed in the top sixteen at the MSHSL Swimming and Diving Championships, as well as being voted MVP by teammates her senior year. Amanda has also spent seven years as a water safety instructor and lifeguard, while leading others as a veteran WSI. Coach Amanda recently graduated from the University of North Dakota with a degree in education through the Kinesiology program, as well as obtaining minors in coaching and health to become a physical education teacher. Coach Amanda believes in the dedication and commitment of young swimmers to accomplish above and beyond what they ever thought possible.

Age Group Coach
Andrew is in his first year of Coaching and is honored to do so
with the Wahoos. He has been involved with competitive swimming
since 2007. As a State Champion in 4 events during High School,
Andrew went on to swim for the University of North Dakota in the
Fall of 2016. During his freshman year he earned a Varsity Letter
Award, eventually scoring in the 200 Yard Butterfly at the Division
I WAC Conference Championships. When the sport was discontinued he
made the decision to stay and finish his degree in Commercial
Aviation. He currently assists teaching swim lessons and enjoys
every second he gets to spend at the pool.
Age Group Coach
Alli has been swimming since she was 10 years old in her
hometown of Elk River, Minnesota. She swam for a variety
of club teams, and for the Elk Rivers girls high school team where
she was team captain, section champ, All American, and All State
for Minnesota. Alli swam for the University of North
Dakota Swim and Dive team from 2013-2017 and currently holds a
school record in the 200 Freestyle Relay, and was awarded a Varsity
Letter. She recently graduated from UND in May 2017 with
a Bachelor’s of Science in Social Work and a minor in
Psychology, and is attending UND to receive her Maters degree in
Social Work. In the past years, she coached Country Club
swimming in Minnesota. Alli really enjoys being around
kids, and sharing her love for the sport of swimming!
