Mary T Mitchell
Mary began swimming competitively at age
six for the Manchester Swim Team. She played water polo for the
University of New Hampshire and continues to swim and compete in
open water swimming events. Mary is a certified ASCA level I
and level II swim coach and is also a certified elementary
education teacher.She has been teaching swimming for over 20 years
and has been coaching for Portsmouth Swim Team since 2003. Mary's
three children are current and former swimmers for
Sue began swimming
competitively as a sixth grader. She did not have a positive
experience with a coach on a swim team and therefore lost interest.
She participated in other sports throughout school. After moving to
Australia in 1986 she joined a masters program and started swimming
competitively with masters, open swimming, as well as competing in
triathalons. "Since then, I have never stopped swimming!
Coaching became an interest for me because I want to nurture
swimmers to love the sport and be the best they can be". Sue began
coaching for PST in 2006 and is a ASCA level 2 certified
Robina began swimming on summer
teams when she was five. She joined PST when she was nine and
continued swimming for the team until she graduated from Portsmouth
High School in 2009. She was a captain of both PST and the PHS swim
team. She is also a lifeguard and swim instructor.
Robina went on to swim for two years at the University of Puget
Sound before transferring to UNH in the Fall of 2011. Her sister
currently swims for PST and her mother also coaches.
