Jen started her coaching career in Connecticut with the New Canaan YMCA Caimans assisting various younger groups throughout her senior year of high school. Jen went off to swim at the University of Rhode Island all four years, becoming one of the Captains of the women’s team in 2012. Jen started coaching with Rams Swim Club in 2010 as the Junior 1 coach and has had experience coaching every single practice group in her tenure with Rams Swimming and when they merged with Shawmut Aquatic Club. As the head coach of Crimson Aquatics-South County RI, she has developed various athletes that have gone on to the next level and managed to swim in collegiate programs. Jen has also coached various Age Group qualifiers, AG champions, Senior qualifiers, Sectional, Futures, Winter Juniors, and Summer Junior qualifiers. Jen has also had experience coaching collegiate athletes, volunteering for two seasons with the University of Rhode Island Women Swimming and Diving Program. Jen graduated with her Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Political Science and is currently enrolled in the Master’s program at Roger Williams University. Jen is employed as a police officer in the state of Rhode Island and also has an infant daughter named Carly.

Steve’s coaching career began in 2011 with a local summer league team, which soon after transitioned into leading a small club team out of Middletown, CT.  From 2013-2015, Steve served as an assistant coach of Charter Oak Aquatics out of Hartford, CT.  Throughout his time there, he spent periods working with all various groups - swimmers ranging from hopping in the pool for their first practice to sectional qualifiers.  In the summer of 2016, Steve served on the coaching staff of various swim camps including Auburn University Swim Camp, where he had an opportunity to learn from top national and international coaches.  Steve started coaching with Shawmut Aquatic Club in fall of 2016, where he coached Age Group 1 and 2, along with assisting Junior 2.  A year later as Shawmut merged with Crimson, Steve took over the Junior 2 group, helping swimmers achieve a high level of success including a number of age group qualifiers and new team records!  Steve resides in East Greenwich, RI and is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at CCRI.

 

Emma Rose Pelton

Emma was a competitive swimmer with Rams Swimming Club from 2006 - 2014. She also swam for South Kingstown High School from 2012 - 2015. During her time at SK High School she helped win two consecutive state championships and set a state record in the 200 free relay. She was a lifeguard at Narragansett Town Beach from 2014 - 2018 and an assistant captain for 2 summers. She taught private swim lessons in 2017 for 8 months and began coaching with Crimson Aquatics - South County in April 2018. This will be her 4th season coaching with Crimson Aquatics. She is currently pursuing a career in physical therapy and resides in Wakefield, RI.
