Alex Cronin became the owner of Gator Swim Club in January of
2016. He was previously the Head Coach and owner of APEX Aquatics,
Gator Swim Club's sister team. APEX Aquatics merged with Gator Swim
Club in August of 2017, and he became Head Coach. The American Swim
Coaches Association presented him the Outstanding Achievement Award
for 2014. He was the Head Coach of the 2010 New England Zone team.
Coach Cronin has coached swimmers to Olympic Trials, Phillips 66
Nationals, US Open, Winter Nationals, Speedo Junior Nationals,
Speedo Junior Winter Championships, Arena Pro Swim Series, NCSA
Championships, Sectionals, New England Seniors and New England Age
He swam for Gator Swim Club as a senior swimmer and was
previously a member of the Gator staff from 2002-2010 working as an
age group coach and senior coach and later as Age Group Director
and Associate Head Coach. He has coached many record breaking and
nationally ranked swimmers over the years.
Coach Cronin has developed a technical approach to the sport of
swimming that puts emphasis on educating and motivating swimmers
towards their full potential. He believes that there is a science
and art to coaching and that when both are emphasized the athletes
in a program fully develop. He is a high energy coach who works
well with young athletes, while educating and coordinating with
their parents to put the swimmer in the best possible situation to
maximize their potential. He has a proven track record in New
England Swimming for technical efficiency and his athletes have
achieved high levels of success. Excited to carry on the tradition
of excellence Gator Swim Club is known for, he and his skilled team
of coaches are ushering in a new era of elite swimming at BGSC.

Senior 1, Senior 2, National Lead Coach
Chris Morgan brings over 20 years of coaching experience to the
legendary Gator Swim Cub. Most recently, Morgan served as Head
Coach of the YMCA of the North Shore and prior to that, was the
Varsity Assistant Coach for the Harvard Women’s Team.
Morgan spent the 2011-12 as a member of the Stanford coaching
staff, helping the Cardinal to a fourth-place finish at the NCAA
Championships. Stanford won national titles in the 200 free relay
and 400 free relay at the meet, and earned 33 All-America honors
after taking second at the Pac-12 Championships.
Morgan coached in Switzerland from 1997-2011. His international
coaching experience has also included the 2008 Olympics in
Beijing, the 2010 European Championships in Hungary, the
2009 World Championships in Rome, the European Short Course
Championships in Croatia in 2008 and in Hungary in 2007, and three
World University Games in Thailand in 2007, Turkey in 2005 and
South Korea in 2003.
A 1993 graduate of UC Davis with a degree in Biological
Sciences, Morgan earned his Masters in Human Movement and Sports
Sciences from the University of Geneva in 2002. While at UC
Davis, Morgan was a conference champion in the 100 fly during his
1992 junior season. Morgan began his coaching career as a
volunteer assistant at Stanford under the late Richard Quick from
1993-97. In 1995-96 he was the assistant women's coach at San Jose
State, and prior to that he was a high school coach at Palo Alto's
Gunn High School (1994-97) for both the boy's and girl's programs.
His first coaching job was as a JV coach at Los Altos High in

Peter Sczupak has nearly 20 years of competitive swim coaching and instructional experience in the Boston, Washington DC, New York/New Jersey, San Francisco, and Phoenix areas.
Athletes under his tutelage include National Age Group Top 16 swimmers, YMCA National Swim Championship Finalists, Olympic Trial Semi-Finalists, and National High School Relay Recordholders, along with NCAA Division I, High School, and Masters All Americans. Peter's instructional experiences have proven equally gratifying, with hundreds of toddlers, youth and adults across non-competitive levels being the beneficiary of his knowledge and engaging teaching style. Practically, Peter's Masters' Swimming involvement provides a vehicle to try out new training and technical ideas, too!
Peter is certified by the American Swimming Coaches Association at Level III (top 20% nationally). He is also a coach member of USA Swimming and fully certified in all Red Cross Water Safety areas.
He holds an MBA in Finance and Sports Business from the University of Oregon and a BS in Business Management from Cornell University.
Age Group Director (Sudbury)
Kelly grew up in Westwood and swam for the New England
Barracuda's as a child and Ocean State Squid in Middle School and
High School. Kelly was also a lifeguard, swim instructor and
coach for the Westwood Recreation department when she was in High
School and had several of the APEX swimmers in her lessons when
they were learning to swim. After Swimming Kelly Attended the
University of New Hampshire to study Exercise Science. After
college Kelly began coaching for New England swimming with an area
club team. Kelly comes to Gator swimming with over 10 years
experience coaching swimmers ages 8-13.
