Megan Myers

Megan Myers began her swimming career on the Central Coast of California. She was the 2002 LCM Junior National Champion in the 200 IM, before packing up and moving across the country to swim for The Pennsylvania State University. Megan became the team co-captain, earned Academic All-Big Ten honors, and held the school record in the 400 IM. She would later place 23rd in the 400 IM at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials. Megan holds undergraduate degrees in journalism and sociology. She has several years of experience coaching Age Group and Masters swimmers, and is excited to be back on the pool deck to help teach and inspire the next generation of swimmers.

Julie Russo

Julie is originally from Maine where she received her undergraduate degree from the University of Maine at Farmington. She received her Masters degree in special education at SUNY Oswego. For the past 18 years, she has been involved in swimming as a parent of two simmers, Josh and Kaela; a USA and Section 3 Varsity/Modified official; club registrar for OLSC; and coach for the Learn to Swim, Stroke School and Age Group programs. She enjoys working with all levels and loves to see the growth many of her swimmers achieve.

Heather grew up in Oswego, and started competitively swimming at the age of 7.  After swimming for OLSC through high school, she went on to compete for Nazareth College of Rochester, where she served as co-captain for junior and senior years.  Heather earned both her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Education, as well as her Masters of Science in Education from Nazareth.  She has several years of coaching experience with club teams, and is honored to be returning to the pool deck as a coach for OLSC.  

Corey Stevens

Corey started his swim career at the Oswego Laker swim club when he was 8 years old and continued to swim in both middle school and for the Oswego buccaneer varsity team. In his high school career he swam butterfly and breaststroke. Although his swimming career is over he is excited to work with the club that he got his start with. He is eager to pass on the lessons he learned through his career as a swimmer.

Matthew Roelands

Matthew is currently attending SUNY Oswego to earn Bachelor’s degrees in Broadcasting and French. Matthew’s hometown is Newark, New York, where he kept busy in his years of school as a Boy Scout, receiving the rank of Eagle, and was involved with academics and athletics (soccer, swimming, and tennis). He has always enjoyed the swim atmosphere as a swimmer, lifeguard, and coach and continues to gain experience now at OLSC.

Carolyn Ann Shaddak

Carolyn grew up in Oswego and started competitively swimming with OLSC at the age of 9.  She went on to compete for Grove City College (PA) where she specialized in freestyle and breaststroke.  Carolyn earned her Bachelor of Arts in English from GCC and and her Bachelor of Arts in mathematics from SUNY Oswego.  She also earned her Masters of Science in Education from SUNY Oswego.  Carolyn is excited to be returning to the team as a coach.

Zach DeSacia

Zachariah DeSacia is an Oswego native who swam from 8th grade to 12th. He swam with OLSC for about 3 years. He has an Associates Degree in Physical Education from Jefferson Community College. He is currently at SUNY Oswego pursuing a Bachelors degree in Wellness Management with a minor in Athletic Coaching. He still swims throughout the week at Lee hall to maintain his skills and technique. He is new to coaching but is excited to start.

Kate Dickson

Kate grew up in the small town of Camden, NY where swimming competitively unfortunately wasn’t an option.  She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Biology from Hobart & William Smith Colleges in Geneva, NY and her MBA from Columbia College.  She has always enjoyed swimming as a form of exercise and became involved with swim organizations when her son entered into the sport two years ago.  She is dedicated to learning everything she can to help young swimmers achieve their goals and have a great time during the process.  

Kaela Russo

Kaela Russo is a recent graduate of SUNY Oswego where she earned her Bachelors degree in Adolescent English Education with a minor in Athletic Coaching. Currently, she is obtaining her Masters to become a Special Education Teacher. She was a competitive swimmer for 13 years where she grew a love for the sport. Kaela was a former swim coach with OLSC and is very eager to be back working with the Learn to Swim program. She looks forward to working with all swimmers and having fun!
