Becky Sapio

With a personal competitive swim background, Becky brings years of experience and expertise to the TWST coaching staff.  Becky began her swimming career with the Stingrays where she was a three time Zone Qualifier, later moving to STAR where she was a seven time Junior National Qualifier.  After high school, Becky continued as a Division 1 swimmer for four years at St. Bonaventure.  During this time, St. Bonaventure’s women were 4 time Atlantic-10 Champions with Becky being an A-10 champ in nine events.  She was a nine time champ at Easterns and during her senior year the team won the Eastern Intercollegiate Championships.  Becky also held nine school records during her college career and was named SBU Female Athlete of the Year her senior year.  She was inducted into the Sacred Heart Academy Athletic Hall of Fame in 2002 and the St. Bonaventure University Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006 for her accomplishments in swimming.  This experience allows Becky to share her expertise with every swimmer, encouraging them to be much more confident and better prepared during their own swimming careers.

Becky has been coaching with TWST since 2009 and coaches because she loves teaching young swimmers while helping them develop as competitors and people.  In 2012, she was chosen as the 11-12 Girls Eastern Zone Coach for the Niagara Zone Team.  She served on the Niagara Swimming LSC Board as the Junior and Senior Coaches Rep in 2014-2016.  She was awarded the Niagara Swimming 2016-17 Senior Coach of the Year.  Becky is the lead coach of our Blue Team and Senior Team.

Bob Nowicki

Bob started off his swimming career at a young age with the Stingrays where he swam for 14 years for the team. Bob set Depew High School’s 500 freestyle record in 2007 which still stands till this day. He continued his swimming career at Buffalo State College where he competed from 2008 until 2011.  He was named Most improved Male swimmer as a freshman.

Bob began his coaching career as a learn-to-swim instructor at Fireman’s Park, where he went onto be the pool manager for five years. His real passion for coaching started while attending Buffalo State.  Realizing he wanted to coach, he joined the TWST staff in 2010. Bob’s passion for coaching grew with this team. He started as an assistant and helping with various groups then became the lead group coach of Blue team, and is now the lead coach of our White and Junior teams.  Additionally, he also assists our Blue, Silver, and Senior teams. In 2015, Bob became the Orchard Park assistant Girls Varsity coach.  In each of his years there, the team has gone undefeated in their division and has won the ECIC and Sectional meets the past four years. Bob has also had the privilege of coaching state finalists in each of his years with Orchard Park.

Although you won’t see Bob in a competition pool anymore, he still trains swimming for various events such as triathlons, completing his first one in 2017 where he placed fourth in his age group. He coaches to pass on all his years of experience to younger swimmers and to help them grow to become the best people they can be, in and out of the water. Along with coaching, Bob manages and runs our Swim-A-Thon, Lifeguard Schedules and the TWST Banquet.

Pat has been coaching for TWST since 2018 and lifeguarded from 2015-2018.  He grew up in Orchard Park, and now currently is a sophomore at the University at Buffalo perusing a career in teaching history.  He coaches for TWST year-round, as well as coaches the 7-8 age group at Hickory Hill Swim and Tennis Club.

While attending OP, Pat started off playing for the school hockey team, where he captained the JV club team both freshman and sophomore years while also playing for the varsity club team sophomore year.  Wishing to be in the pool more, Pat left the hockey team and joined the OP varsity team, where he swam in his remaining two years of high school. During his senior year of high school, Pat also joined TWST as a swimmer hoping to improve in the water. He was a member of our Junior team during his last year of high school.
